A Days Temptation

There's a question I like to ask
What am I here for?
And
Can I help?
The sun smiled back and told me to bask.
"In what?" I questioned
He shook his head and laughed
He liked my questions
He said I was destined.
This time I didn't ask, but I knew
I knew what he meant
Because he wasn't speaking to me
He was speaking to the many
And the few.
We all stood in silence
All until the moon appeared
Shining her kind wisdom
This time she spoke to the woman on my left
"Smile tomorrow and heed my guidance."
The woman took a moment
Then she looked to me
And a tear rolled from her eye
Then she made a strong statement.
"I will stand my ground
With my friends beside me
My enemies behind me
And my future before me
And I do not have to be lost
