Hawkkit's eyes remained shut tightly.

"Hawkkit, get over here!" Cootspring yowled loudly.

Hawkkit huffed, and pulled back, yowling back, "yeah?!"

There was no response, and so Hawkkit huffed again and padded over to his mother.

"You fool, you missed it!" She yelped in exclaim, swiping at his cheek which landed on his side, making him tumble to the side. She snickered lightly, and turned around, facing his siblings as she talked to them in a sweet voice.

Hawkkit whipped around, his tail flicking in annoyance as he went back over to Frostkit.

"Man, why are you so stupid?" She said, and his ears pinned back.

"Wh-what?..." Hawkkit said in sheer terror.

"You heard me. You're really stupid. Surprised I never noticed it." Hawkkit took a step back, his ears twitching.

Hawkkit paused, and then scrambled away in sobs.

His breath become heavier as he slept, his entire body twitching. His mind then traveled to a new realm of dreams.

"I now hail you as Frostpaw of Tundraclan!" Driftstar yowled, her voice echoing throughout the camp.

Frostkit, now Frostpaw, puffed out her chest in pride.

"Hawkkit," Driftstar started. Hawkkit took a step forward, his eyes shining with pride. "You have failed even as a kit. You shall stay as Hawkkit for another moon." The cats around him snickered as he held back tears.

"Why? What have I done wrong?" He muttered to himself. He whimpered, and took a step back with shame. "Yes Driftstar..." he muttered loud enough for her to hear. The snickers became louder and Hawkkit felt more shame wash over him.

Hawkkit burst out of sleep with heavy breaths, and looked around the empty den. Sunlight spilled through the trees as Hawkkit took a step out.
