I awoke from the sun beating down on me through the car window, as we pull into the parking lot of the practice field.
I rub my eyes and shoot Travis a smile.
"We're here, baby!" Travis softly whispered.
I yawn, "yay!" I exclaimed.
Travis got out and ran around the car to come open my door, pure excitement on his face.
"Thank you, Travis! Thats very sweet of you." I smile at him and proceed to lock hands with him as we walk into the stadium.
"okay, Taylor.. I have to go the locker room now. You know where to go right?" Travis questioned, as they had to part ways.
"Oh yeah! I'll see you on the field!" I gave him a quick peck.
It was nice seeing Travis be himself, him and his teammates were always so close, and it always made me happy to see that.
The sun started to fade, glowing orange filled the sky as the sweaty players started to walk off field, but while I was waiting for Travis on the side lines, I couldn't help but feel jealous when he was walking over and smiling with a different girl.
The brunette was wearing baggy light jeans, a baggy cheifs jersey, the number being 87, a cheifs hat, and white tennis shoes.
Who is that girl? And why is she wearing Travis' number? And why haven't I met her before?
As they get closer the laugh got louder, until Travis and the brunette were right in front of me.
"Hey baby!" Travis leaned in for a hug.
"Hi, sweetie! You looked like you had an amazing time out there!" I say smiling.
"Yeah, I did!" He smiles back.
"Oh.. and.. I forgot to introduce y/n, she works with the cheifs marketing team!" Travis explained.
The girl smiled at me and gave a cute wave.
"Hi nice to meet you, Taylor! I've heard so much about you!" She held out her hand to shake.
"It's a pleasure to meet you as well!" I say.
"I just thought I'd come over to the field to take some photos, and to come see Travis, since we haven't talked since February!" She explained making conversation.
I didn't say anything, and smiled.
"We have been friends ever since we were little in elementary school, she'd play football with me and Jason at recess." Travis says clearing the situation up more.
I took a sigh of relief, why was I so jealous?
y/n frowns and tilts her head looking at me. You could see the pure worry in her eyes as the light simmered off them. She looked at me then at Travis and then smiled, awkwardly.
"um.. I'm gonna go check up on coach and have him go through the pictures.." y/n explained, already slowly backing up.
"Oh yeah, alright see you around y/n!" Travis waved, as I smiled.
Travis took me over to the bench where him and his teammates would talk about who knows what, but I wasn't watching them, I was watching y/n. She glowed from the sun setting, as she knelt down to snap a photo, then proceeding to head over to the coach, going through the photos, in which he adds he would like a picture of the team smiling and talking.
Y/n smiles and gives him the nod of approval as she turns directly around to face, me, and all the others as well. She smiled and snapped photos.
I felt like I was stuck in a trance, I couldn't look away. I was intrigued by her every move.
She took the photos and eventually put the camera down, so it would hang down her neck, and looked straight at, me. Not anyone else. She began to tilt her head and walk over the benches.
"hey, you okay? You're like zoning out.. You can talk to me about anything.." y/n puts her hand on my shoulder and sits right next to me.
"Yeah I'm fine.." I mumbled, too focused on her Carmel brown eyes.
She pauses and looks at me with seriousness, then tilts her head.
"Taylor, If you need to talk I'm always here.." she tells me with a gleaming smile.
I smile back, then look at Travis, who couldn't seem bothered that I clearly wasn't feeling the best. Travis and his team were drinking, playing games, shouting, and laughing loudly. But y/n she's right here, actually looking out and spending time with me.
"Is everything going okay with you and Travis?" Y/n asked clearly sensing some tension.
"yeah.. well.. no.. well I don't know.." I stumbled over my words, I wasn't sure.
"He can be annoying sometimes, trust me, I know.." she laughs with me, lifting the mood.
"I can talk to him for you if you'd like..?" Y/n asks maintaining sincere eye contact.
"no no that's okay, thanks though!" I didn't want her to leave my side, it would make me feel as if I'm back in high school sitting alone during lunch.
I felt as if Travis drifted away from me and our relationship, and he doesn't make the effort for me anymore, but there are times he's so sweet that it makes me feel guilty for thinking that.
Y/n sighs, trying to break the silence.
"Hey, would you like to take a look at some of my photos?" She asks moving on from the heavy topic.
"Yeah, I'd love to!" I say, as I was interested.
She flips through all the photos some even with a silly story behind it, and tells me everything about them, by the time she had shown me all of them, we were the only ones left sitting on the benches with the stadium lights in the dark, as all the guys went to the locker room.
"I'd love to hang out some more, with you or you both.. so let me know when you're free!" Y/n smiles as she shuts off her camera.
"That would be amazing!" Taylor smiles genuinely.
"Great! Travis has my number!" She stands up, and I follow.
"Oh.. okay!" I smile, wanted to ask her for her number so I could have it.
She smiles back, and leads me to the locker room, hand in hand as she skips and swings our arms back and forth. It was adorable.
