I was devastated. She left me. My mate. My heart. My soul. My everything. She left, why? Was I not a good enough mate? Was I too young? Was I ugly, undesirable?
I don't think I'd ever know.
Because now she's gone.
Pain stabbed into my heart, and it felt as if I died numerous times. She might as well reject me. In fact, I should reject her. She left me when I was only trying to help.
"I, Tony Lynch-"
'Don't say it!' Dmitri screeched in my mind.
"Reject Shadow-"
Dmitri sobbed.
"Gomez as my mate." Then all I knew was darkness as unbearable pain enclosed me, and I couldn't feel anything once darkness settled.

I left my mate. I left him, I hurt him, and he didn't come after me. No, not the second time. He couldn't. He wouldn't. I was running after a scent, a scent that caused me to run out of the house in the first place. But then I smelled vanilla, vanilla and pine cone. When I turned around, Tony made me slow down. He melted my heart.
I left him because I had to find her. I just smelled her, but I could be imagining it. I kept sprinting. But just a moment later, my heart felt stabbed. My rib cage broke, I toppled over. I was collapsed, broken. A broken wolf.
I will always be broken. I knew what happened.
My mate rejected me.
After I had stayed on the ground for less than 20 seconds, blurring I could see flames moving towards me. As I focused on it, I realized it was the outline of a wolf. "Chloe?" I whimpered, my voice hoarse. I missed her so much.
"I'm here for you, sister. I'm here."
