FLICKER - NIALL HORAN
"Still a flicker of hope that you first gave to me. That I wanna keep. Please don't leave. Please don't leave. And I want this to pass. And I hope this won't last. Last too long."

IT WAS EASY to notice how weird and off-putting Art Donaldson has been acting the past couple of weeks. Willow was blind to it at first, but caught on whenever she asked about how it goes when he went to see Patrick.

His eyes would lower to the ground and his chest would flush an anxious red, as if he were nervous, as if he were guilty of something. It always took him a stuttering moment before giving his answer. Which was never more than an un-detailed 'good, him and Tash are great'. Willow would narrow her eyes in suspicion but always brushed it off. Art would never do anything wrong to her, he wasn't capable of it.

What she didn't know was that she was completely wrong. Art wasn't really going to see Patrick. In fact, he hadn't spoken to Patrick for almost five months now. Who he was seeing was Tashi Duncan.

He threw the piece of paper with Tashi's number on it straight into the garbage. But after only an hour of undeniably being able to get her to leave his mind, he dug it out and began texting the woman.

Art was left with the feeling of disappointment in himself. But he could never bring himself to admit his actions to Willow.

Willow entered the familiar cafe in the center of campus and her eyes laid upon an old friend, Patrick. He must be visiting Tashi and Art on campus again. Maybe that major something that happened years ago would finally be put behind them. Maybe he didn't necessarily hate her anymore. Maybe she didn't necessarily hate him.

"Zweig," she greets with a gentle smile and a hesitant walk up to him.

A goofy smile replaced his resting mean face, "You're talking to me?" He stood still for a few seconds before throwing his arms around her in a giant bear hug, "Willow I'm so so sorry." She stumbled back and was surprised but she accepted his embrace.

His apology brought her to a state of shock yet relief.

"When did you become a sweetheart?" She pats his back as his body engulfed hers.

"Since I realized Tashi's no good for me." He pulls apart from her, his eyes slowly turning to a look of sympathy. She grew confused. Why was he looking at her like that?
