WILDFLOWER - BILLIE EILISH
"But I see her in the back of my mind. All the time. Like a fever, like I'm burning alive. Like a sign. Did I cross the line?"

2010.

"WILLOW. WILLOW BE CAREFUL." Art's laugh echoed as if it were a memory. He watched the girl he loves leap from a lifeguard's post.

"It's not even that high," she claims looking up at the wooden stand.

Seagulls squawked and ocean waves crashed to the surface. The sun was setting causing a warm tint to be cast onto the couple. The beach breeze blew Willow's hair from her face and Art only stood there admiring his girl.

"Why didn't we come here sooner?" Willow questioned, holding her hand out behind her for him to take. And he does. Immediately.

"I honestly have no clue." He shrugs with a bright smile. He couldn't take his eyes off her. She had a white sundress on, "This won't be your last time wearing a white dress."

She then turns with furrowed brows, "But it will." He furrowed his eyebrows together, "Don't you remember?" She dropped her hand from his and turned around. She had a stab wound in her back with blood staining the white of her dress.

"What, Willow-" His breathing quickened and she gestured to his hand. He looks down to see a knife. He immediately dropped it into the sand.

"You stabbed me in the back. You hurt me." She had tears in her eyes, "And you left me."

"No, I didn't." He aggressively shook his head with tears burning in his eyes.

She began to dissolve into thin air and he attempted to reach out to her. But it was no use, she was gone.

A loud alarm interrupted Art's slumber. He shot up and looked around. She wasn't here. Of course she wasn't.

He rubbed his hands over his face and slouched.

Another dream.

Willow Barlowe had been haunting him since the day she left. He swears that he sees her face in people he doesn't even know. Everything that happens in his life reminds him of her. And the most obvious part of this, he has had dreams of her almost every night for the past two years. Most of which are nightmares.
