Four sat in his room in the mental hospital and cried. A thought circled through his mind.

"I'm not good enough."

It wouldn't stop. Four sighed.

Many have asked Four...

"How did this start?"

Well, let's start from the beginning.

***

Four was an average Algebralien.

He was a friend of X before BFB, and the two eventually fell in love.

Four loved X with all of his heart, as well as his sense of self, and vice versa.

Four developed his sense of self not long before BFB.

He believed that he was a good person. A good friend. A good peer.

But one day, all of that changed. Four got a horrible idea.

He decided to go host his own show, just like the Announcer did.

He took X with him.

He felt himself mentally fall apart. His personality, his emotions, everything. And his sense of self was gone.

"As long as I have BFDI, I will never be alone."

That was what went through Four's head as he left the Equation Playground to host BFB.

X tried to get him to stop, but each "no" or "don't" resulted in a violent slap, screech, or zappy.

Four was so determined to be just like the Announcer that he mistreated X and others repeatedly along the way through BFB (mainly before the split).

When the split happened, Four realized that his wrongdoings made almost everyone leave.

That's when a thought began to get to him...

"I'm not good enough."

Four resisted the urge to hurt others more. Although he did still hurt others sometimes, he did that a lot less than before. He also became emotional more easily. He was overwhelmed.

This caused him to harm himself in that time. He still believed the thought that went through his head thanks to his new sense of self:

"I'm not good enough."

As BFB neared its end, this thought would get worse and worse. It snowballed into the point where he became the desert after seeing Announcer's reaction. The thought got to him...

"I'm not good enough."

Soon, BFB ended. Four settled down, but the thought still lingered...

"I'm not good enough."

Time went on. Four continued to hurt himself because of the repeated thought. Soon, others caught on to what Four was doing to himself and decided that it was time to get Four some help.

So, Four ended up in the mental hospital and stayed there for four months.

***

After a therapy session, Four repeatedly says to himself...

"I'm a good person."

He manages to make a goal to change himself for the better.
