Coffee's Creamer [ Alhaitham x reader ]

The House of Daena

"So Y/N, welcome to the House of Daena," Alhaitham said.

Y/N followed behind him into the building.  When her eyes gazed upon the grand library, she couldn't help but pause to take in the scenery.

"You mean you work here?" Y/N asked, shocked to why Alhaitham wouldn't come here everyday.

"I don't work everyday, but I do have access to the House of Daena whenever I want."

"Lucky, Liyue doesn't have a library as grand as this.  We only have small book shops."

Alhaitham chuckled, "Well now that we're here, what are you looking for?"

"Two things, I'm trying to find a book on Sumeru plants and fruit and the book 'Cecilias Bloom on Cliffs'.  The book is by Yeshenghou, I don't know if you know her." Y/N explained.

"Well the first book you're looking for will be useful for your occupation."

"I would prefer it if you gave me a book with mostly edible plants..." Y/N added.

"The best books I would recommend off the top of my head would be 'The Altas of Flora in Teyvat' by renowned botanist, Dr. Zubaydah." Alhaitham thought about his answer, "Wait no, the best option would be 'Culinary Flora of Teyvat'.  If I remembered correctly, it includes the description of each plant and the taste along with other details."

"Then Culinary Flowers or something would be best for me," Y/N decided, "Where is it located."

"Unfortunately you cannot access it without a permit, luckily I have one." he said, "I can get it for you, but you may not bring it out of the library because it will be under my name."

"Why is it not accessible without a permit?"

Alhaitham explained, "The book contains mythical, rare, or unattainable flowers.  They should be edible, but are only edible if prepared specifically.  In short, some are used for potions.  Because some flowers listed in the book are practically impossible to attain, many died attempting to harvest them.  Another reason why we keep that book within the upper levels of the House of Daena."

"I see...well, what about 'Cecilias Bloom on Cliffs'.  It's a fanasty romance novel that just came out half a month ago, is it available?"

"I'm sure it should be, let's go find it.  You have a library card right?"

"I do, but I don't know if it is still usable." Y/N said as she handed Alhaitham her library card.

Alhaitham examed the card as the two walked to find Yeshenghou's new novel.  He took a careful look to find the renewing date.

"It seems like it has expired, but it's not a problem.  We can renew it, when was the last time you came here anyways?" Alhaitham said.

Y/N was embarrassed, "I haven't stepped foot in Sumeru since I left.  I was only here for two months for school."

"Oh? I see, well it was a good decision in your part...for your future, not for your library card.  We can always set you up with a new one after we find your book."

Alhaitham walked around the library.  First he identified the genre, then the title.

Alhaitham mumbled to himself, "Fantasy...okay now 'Ce' for 'Cecilia'."

"It's more likely to be in the Romance section," Y/N suggested.

"That would make more sense," Alhaitham agreed, "What is the story about anyways?"

"It's about a god of war falling in love with an author.  They met on a calm night by a cliff filled with Cecilia  flowers."  Y/N explains, "I've been dying to know what happened after he had to be present for war."
