Joyce's father warned her not to do anything. "The king of wolves knew that we disobeyed the absolute rule—not to harm humans. They've been watching us for a while now, and they knew everything you did to those poor girls. Scouts and sentinels will bring us to Red Island, and Chief Hunter told us that our lives would depend on you, daughter. Don't do anything to humans anymore. They'll torture and kill all of us if you harm another human, especially that girl, Jones."
Joyce was also terrified of the king of wolves, but she spent the majority of her life among humans and had never seen or felt the king of wolves' presence or power over them. Her father once told her that it was his job to protect the absolute rule, which was to keep their race sheltered from humans. Her father's job as an intermediary had given them a lot of privileges. Her father was bluffing, and she was furious for not supporting her in her vengeance against lowly humans.
Her blood was boiling just thinking about Jennifer Jones. She intended to feed her to rogues she knew alongside the Leslie Ann girl, which was an insult to her. She went to the school director to ask for his help with her plan, but the new secretary informed her that the school director had been fired and that there was a new administration in place. The secretary was a wolf like her parents, and when she seduced him, he was not tempted. Instead, he was thrown outside the office like a scumbag.
Leslie Ann's family was missing, according to her father, including her garbage of a father. Leslie Ann's weakness was her family; how could she use them if she couldn't find them? But chance was working against the poor girl. Leslie Ann inquired about her family, and she smiled wickedly.
"I'll bring your family to you if you can get Jennifer to come with you to the address I'll give you," Joyce taunted. When Leslie Ann nodded and burst into tears, she smiled contentedly. "Oh, how I love seeing you cry and scream again!" she exclaimed, laughing as if she had gone insane.
When Leslie Ann and Savannah arrived, Joyce and the rogues were waiting for them. Leslie Ann was trembling when she noticed the rogues' red eyes glaring at them. Some of them were half-naked and salivating. Savannah tightened her grip on her hand to calm her.
"I admire your bravery, human. That bravery could cost you your life. I want to see you tremble and beg like the girls I buried here," Joyce said, laughing. The crazy woman considered herself among wolves and above humans. She was full of herself. Savannah wanted to wipe the smirk from her face.
Savannah looked around and noticed ten rogues. Theo and his team are on the hunt for rogues. A human like Joyce cooperating with rogues is considered a capital offense, and there will be capital punishment for her deed. The girl was very confident and crazy.
She has been surrounded by wolves since she was a child, but she never in her life saw their wolf form; she only encountered criminals and delinquents in her line of work.
"Do you want to beg right now?" Joyce asked. "In your dreams, kid," she stated. She pulled out her gun and pointed it at her. "I'm not Jennifer; I'm a cop," she declared.
Joyce screamed, and her pupils dilated, like a ravenous wolf, or maybe the girl was the daughter of a devil. Savannah grabbed Leslie Ann first, but the girl collapsed to the ground. The fainting would be to her advantage; she didn't want Leslie Ann to see these thugs. She was still guarding them against the wolf's absolute rule. She motioned for the rogues to come to her.
Damn! They're quick and furious. She fired, but the bullet didn't mean anything to them if it didn't leave a hole in their brain or heart. She shot two bullets and aimed at their heads, killing two of them.
Rogues are strong and wild, though, and one of them reached her and kicked the gun in her hand. He was about to kick her again, but she was quick as well. Three of them were up against her, and one of them was strong enough to strike her. She believes her ribs have been broken.
