3RD PERSON POV
Another 2 days go by. This time, they didn't feel empty. That void was filled, filled with suspense and enthusiasm. This is what kept them alive. Hanging on to hope and fondness.
Gojo is happier these days. He is energetic like back in the old times, before Suguru left. He is radiating and contrasts the people around him. He's impatient.
Valentine's Day finally arrives. It was a long Wednesday at Jujutsu High. Little does anyone know that the lover boy was going to make up for it. Little does anyone know that this tiring day was going to be the best he's lived.
"Any plans for today? As you might have guessed, I don't. Wanna hang out? Do like an anti-Valentine's day-platonic date?" -Asked Shoko.
"I would really like to, but I have plans for tonight, sorry."
"Oh? You have plans huh? Now that I think about it, you've been strangely happy for these past two weeks or so. Trying out your luck with someone?"
"Well... I..."
"Good for you! You're moving on from... uh... you know who... And that's great! Go lovebirds!"
"Yeah...! Haha..."
Little does she know... Little does she know who he's meeting. Who is this lovebird she's talking about. The one and only. The one who's name is apparently forbidden now. Since when did that happen? Oh, right, since he left. But what was actually happening between them remains a sealed and sacred secret.
It's slightly windy outside. A symphony is born from the sea's waves hitting sand and pelicans' grunts. The smell of his lovebird leads him towards the right direction. There he is, tear-jerkingly-handsome romantic bastard. He runs and hugs hum him from behind. Sweet zephyr caresses their faces as they kiss in the bathing sunlight.
"I was waiting for you."
"I came here as fast as I could." -Satoru responds in a single breath, still catching it from all the running.
"You look more beautiful than I remember."
"And you're more romantic than I recall! I loved the letter you sent me."
"I loved your response."
"I love you."
"I love you too."
Such simple words, yet such a grandiose meaning. Words that hold emotion and commitment. Bond and trust. Two foolish and daft teenagers, feeding themselves with mutual love. Lost on the beach, swimming in the crazy sea, tasting the sea salt on each other's lips after kissing. Being splashed by happy waves and singing along wandering birds. What could they ask for more? They're already hiding from the painful reality of the cruel world, so they might as well enjoy the last moments of bliss before the misery begins.
The night sky lays down the dark veil over their heads. Stars reflect sparkles over the sea. It's time find a place to eat and spend the night.
A ramen bar is open on a street nearby. The big welcoming sign makes it easy to catch your eye. They seat at a tall oak table, the warm candle on it flaming in the dimness. Their food arrives and they share a big bowl of hot ramen noodles. After all, if they share love, what else is there that they don't?
Thereafter, they go looking for accommodation. There's a big hotel always open on Koen-Dori Avenue. They get a room on the 12th floor. It's the only room they have left. Lucky for them, because this hotel is always booked.
They enter the room, arms wrapped tightly around each other. It's tidy and it smells elegant.
They enter the bathroom to wash their hands and splash water onto the mirror and their faces.
Why are insignificant moments like these the purest and most beautiful of them all? They go back to the bedroom, holding hands, looking ecstatically at each other. It's time for what every teenager has been dreaming of, because that's what they are. Normal youngsters living their normal youngster life. Except they're not. There upon they hide from the sorcerer allegations in search for a simpler life, one that they can share.
Suguru unbuttons Satoru's shirt, looking lovingly at him. Their shirts are off, as well as their guard. They become vulnerable again, intimate. Them against the world, but it's more the world against them. The lover boy pushes the romantic bastard on the bed, climbing onto his lap.
They lose themselves in the moment and together they cross the line.
As for the whole night, time was frozen yet again. Life didn't matter anymore, because they were outside of it. They were in rhapsody. Two humans in metamorphosis, becoming two stars aligned in the sky. Two lovers taking a step forward, advancing in the enchanting realm of amour.
The next morning, they wake up next to each other, covered in fluffy sheets. Suguru wakes up first. Before he gets out of bed, he takes a moment to admire the beauty of his partner. The sun rays nuzzle his white hair. His long eyelashes shine in sunbathing.
How is the strongest person alive in love with him? With a worthless ambiguous individual who can't even think straight? How is this possible? Time moves so fast that it pushes you to act before having time to think. But this isn't the case here. They always knew that they loved each other. Four years have passed since they met for the first time and they didn't even notice. Love is the most twisted curse of all and it crumples time and logic.
Satoru wakes up a little bit later, welcomed back to reality by Suguru's sunny face. However, is this actually reality? Or is this them running away from it?
Later that day...
"Suguru..."
"Yes?"
"Can you make a promise?"
"What promise?"
"If things turn out well in the end, will you marry me?"
"..."
"If we make it out alive and sort everything out?"
"Of course I would..."
"..."
"But don't get your hopes too high..."
"I don't care about the future right now."
"Well, I do."
"So it's a yes or no?"
"Yes."
"Till' death tears us apart?"
"Till' death tears us apart."
After that bonding day, the two lovers meet often, but each time, the gap between their dates becomes bigger. Why is that? Why are they drifting apart? They are growing up, each on a different path, with different ideals and beliefs. They still write romantic letters that keep them entertained and alive, but fate never forgets where they truly belong.
