Jensen paces his room, his footsteps muffled by the large carpet, wondering what the hell possessed his father to forge a marriage agreement without letting him know about it, the same thought that has been haunting him for the last three months.

He knows the reasoning behind this arrangement, that Everleigh's father was an old friend and that he probably asked his father to take care of her once he died, and he can, to some extent, understand his father's decision. However, there had to be other ways for his father to take care of Everleigh that didn't involve Jensen marrying her.

Jensen stops pacing and sits on the couch, his head in his hands, thinking that he wished he had known about this sooner, that way maybe he could've talked his father out of it, or, at the very least, have enough time to wrap his head around the idea of getting married to someone he never even met, instead of being thrown into a marriage agreement at the very last minute.

He lets out a breath, lifting his head and looking out the window, wondering if Everleigh hates this situation as much as he does and, if so, if she will be willing to part ways, with the promise that he will look after her until she can marry someone a little more willing.

Jensen stands and shakes his head in anger, resuming his pacing, thinking that Everleigh will probably accuse him of breaking his father's promise to look after her properly and that that includes marrying her.

He has no other choice but to go forward with this, even if that is the last thing he wants to do.
