Jhanvi
It had been an entire day since they left. He said they had a meeting and might be late, but I didn't expect it to be this late. It's almost midnight, and neither of us can sleep from worry.
"Itna tension mat le vo meeting main hai has" Amaya said, trying to comfort me.
"Tujhe to pata hai mujhe worry kitni jaldi ho jati hai, or upar se raat kitni hogayi hai, or dono ke hi phone nahi lag rahe" I said, panic evident in my voice. I looked down at my hands, which were almost shaking.
"I even asked the maids and the bodyguards so many times, and the answer was the same: 'Sorry, ma'am, but sir hasn't told us anything, and we don't know where they are. But we'll still try." They've left at 10, and now it's almost 3 am. They probably haven't eaten, and they didn't take a driver either-" Amaya pulled me into a hug, making me quickly hug her back.
"They're fine" she said.
"How can you say that when your heart is beating the same way as mine is?" I whispered, my heart heavy. I always get worried quickly, and why shouldn't I? They aren't picking up the calls, nobody knows where they are. My heart is beating so hard in my chest that it's starting to hurt.
"Someone has to reassure" she said trying to lighten up the mood, making me let out a dull chuckle.
"Bas kar, hum dono same hi overthink karte hai" I said, making her giggle.
"Sure why not. Tu vo sab chor or kuch kha le, subha se kuch nahi khaya" she said as I let go of the hug. I don't even feel hungry right now. How can I? The worry is in my head, and from that, my stomach is hurting.
"Tune bhi kuch nahi khaya hai" I remarked.
"Vo to tune nahi khaya isiliye" she said. I glanced over at the floor. The room went silent for a few seconds before I blinked slowly, looking at her. My eyes felt heavy.
"I feel like crying" I said, my voice lower than a whisper. My throat was going dry.
"I know, I know" she said, pulling me into another hug.
"I'm just worried what if something has happened-" I stopped, not daring to continue my sentence.
"Bhagwan ji please unko ghar bhej do" I whispered, snuggling closer to her, holding back my urge to cry. I grabbed the back of her shirt tightly, my mind racing with thoughts that shouldn't be there.
"Don't worry-" she stopped as soon as we heard a car screeching to a halt outside. We quickly looked at each other before we got up and stormed out of the room. We ran down the stairs, not caring if we fell. She rushed beside me.
Aryan laughed making me look at them. I bite my inner bottom lip before I ran over to him, hugging him tightly. Amaya did the same. As soon as my hands wrapped around his neck and my face went on his shoulder, I burst into crying, and so did Amaya. He wrapped his arms around me, holding me close.
I started crying hard, burying my face in his chest, not wanting him to see my tears, though he clearly could feel them soaking his shirt. His hands gently cupped my cheeks, trying to lift my head. I resisted, not letting him.
"Meri Jaan kya Hua? App kyu ro rahe ho?" he asked worriedly, placing his hand behind my head while the other stayed on my cheek. I cried out more, my hands gripping his shirt into a fist. He pulled me closer, kissing my forehead, I let out a louder cry, my emotions flooding out uncontrollably.
"Itni raat ho gayi hai-" I managed to choke out through my sobs. I let out a soft gasp, tears running down my cheek on their own.
"Or subhe se app gaye ho, hum dono ko pata hai kitni chinta ho rahi thi!!" I almost screamed, making Amaya agree. We both couldn't control ourselves, crying as if we never cried before. He wrapped his hands around me again, hugging me tightly. I let out a quiet cry, biting my inner lip harder.
