chapter seventeen ❤︎︎
- kaliyah's pov -Audrey and I had been dancing together for a while to the music, my legs were getting tired. We both went outside to sit in the garden so we could cool down, everything inside was getting chaotic.
'I feel so sick.' Audrey laughed, sitting beside me on the bench.
'Not surprised, how much have you actually drunk?' I asked.
'I lost count.' She shrugged.
'At least your having fun.' She rested her head on my shoulder, her breathing began to slow down.
'I miss my ex.'
'What? No you don't,' I laughed. 'Maybe you need some sleep.'
'I don't miss him actually...he was a prick.' She sighed. 'He was a really big prick.'
'Yeah..'
'But he had nice abs.' She continued. 'And he was amazing in bed.' She chuckled, beginning to close her eyes and just yap.
'Well your next boyfriend can be even better.'
'Yes, you're so right! This is why i love you Kali, everything you say is just what i'm thinking. I'm so glad we became friends.'
'Me too Aud.' I smiled. 'Do you want me to take you to bed?' I asked.
'Yeah, I'm too tired to stay awake much longer.' She said, sitting back up.
'That's fine. Let's get you up to bed.' I grabbed her hands and helped her stand back up, hoping she was still able to walk properly.
'There you guys are!' Jude said as we came back inside. 'Everything okay?'
'Yeah, all good. I'm just taking her up to the guest bedroom.'
'Tired Audrey?' he asked. She didn't say anything, just nodded. 'Goodnight then.'
'Night sexy.' She smirked, Jude just stood there and laughed.
'Okay let's go Audrey.' I said, grabbing her hand and quickly taking her away so she wouldn't say anything else she might regret.
I took her upstairs and helped her sort herself out before she got into bed in the guest bedroom. I left a glass of water and some paracetamol on the bedside cabinet incase she woke up during the night and had a headache or something.
'Thanks Kaliyah.' She smiled, rolling over in the bed.
'That's okay, you get some sleep.' I said, turning the light off and gently closing the door.
I took a deep breath before turning around to head back downstairs. It was a lot later now and some people had began to go home.
'There you are.' I got to the top of the stairs, and as i was about to go down, Jobe was coming up.
'Hey.' I smiled. He grabbed my waist, holding me closing to him. 'What's the matter with you?' I giggled as we walked back a few steps together.
'Nothing, just missed you.'
'Don't tell me you're drunk as well?'
'What? No, i'm not.' He shook his head. 'I've only had one drink, and that was earlier.'
'I don't believe you.' He lifted me up and i held tightly around his neck whilst my legs wrapped around his waist.
'Let's go in here.' He said, heading into my bedroom and closing the door behind him.
'I can't see anything.' I said as he put me down onto my bed, i was laying flat and he was leaning on top of me.
'That's okay, you don't need to.' I could feel his warm breath on my neck and his cold hand down on my waist.
'You smell good.' I giggled, wrapping my legs around him again just so he was closer.
'Yeah?'
'Yes.' I said, rolling us both over so he was now laying down and i was straddling his waist. I leant down slowly and pecked his lips.
'Is that what we're doing now?' He laughed, holding my hips. 'We were only friends not long ago.'
'Well we'll stop if you still want that.' I frowned, sitting back up.
'I think you know what i want.' He brought me back down onto him and placed a soft kiss on my forehead.
We couldn't see eachother, my room was too dark, but he could probably feel the huge smile that was plastered across my face.
'Can you sleep here tonight?' I asked.
'Sure.' He answered. 'I'll just grab my bags from downstairs.'
'Okay, don't be too long. I might change my mind.' I laughed.
'No you won't.' He laughed too.
He quickly went downstairs to grab his things from the lounge and came back up within a few minutes. Whilst he was gone i changed into a white tank top and some comfy shorts, took my makeup off and brushed my teeth.
We both laid there together, my head resting on his chest as it slowly rose up and down with every breath.
I knew he wasn't asleep and neither was i, but we both just enjoyed the presence of each other and the silence. Out of nowhere, the feelings i had towards Jobe recently just suddenly grew stronger than i had expected.
I could feel myself drifting off to sleep, and his hand softly scratching my back. Something which i think he had learned i liked.
- jobe's pov -
I felt her body immediately relax as she laid beside me with her head rested against my chest. How are we really in this situation? It wasn't long ago we were just good family friends.
It felt right though, it felt good. Nothing felt forced, or awkward, or weird. We both wanted this, although i don't think either of us truly know what 'this' is.
I'd never thought about a girl this way, the only experiences i've had are just stupid one night stand type things. Never anything where i've properly committed to it and it's actually been something.
Kaliyah's breaths became heavier yet slower, which made me think she had fallen asleep. I stopped moving my hand on her back to see if she would react.
'Why'd you stop?' She whispered, looking up at me with tired eyes.
'I'm sorry, i thought you had fallen asleep.' I explained. 'You look tired.'
'I was almost asleep.' She put her head back down and moved her leg over so it was on top of mine. 'Goodnight Jobe.'
'Goodnight Kaliyah.'
