Chapter 1

The story continues after Abbey wakes up...

~Abbey's POV~

"That's the problem.  We don't know." She tells me.  I start to cry.  Pony holds me in his arms as tears roll down my cheeks.

The nurse went over to Louisa's bed and wrote some things down on her clipboard while examining the limp body.  I kept crying into Pony's shoulder until I had no tears left.

~Louisa's POV~

Black.  Darkness.  That's all I see.  I hear muffled voices, but they're not loud enough to hear.  Someone comes over to the bed and picks up my hand.  Their hands are really cold.  Must be a nurse.  I try to open my eyes to see, but they're glued shut.  I try to move my fingers, my hand, my arm, my leg, anything.  But it just doesn't work.  I finally give up and try to fall asleep.  Hopefully after I wake up I'll have more strength to move and perhaps just wake up.  Hopefully.

~Soda's POV~

I opened my eyes to see Louisa laying next to me.  I smiled at her.  All the events from yesterday come rushing through my head and my smile turned into a frown.  I looked across the room to see everyone huddled around Abbey's hospital bed, whispering.  I wonder what that's about.  I decide to push the thought away and cherish this quiet moment and fall back asleep....

~Darry's POV~

After we were all awake, we huddled up around Abbey's bed, because she was awake.  The only people that weren't in the huddle were Soda and Louisa.  We overwhelmed her with questions and updates on what had happened while she was asleep.  Once there was nothing left to say, we all returned to our original spots and talked a bit amongst ourselves.  After a while, I decided that the most of us should get back home.

Two-Bit, Johnny, and I piled into the cab, while the rest sat in the bed of the truck.  Once we got back, I made some chocolate cake and we all watched mickey the rest of the afternoon.

~Soda's POV~

By the time I woke up again, everyone had left.  The room was dead silent besides the sound of the four of us breathing.  I looked at Louisa and smiled.  She looked so beautiful.  And so young.

Then all of a sudden her eyelashes fluttered open.
