as his sister pace around her room, mumbling to herself about different ideas for what she was going to do about the situation. He was starting to get a little worried.

"Sis, you're going to pace a hole in the floor. Did you take your meds today?" he asked. Lily glared at the boy who just replied, "Never mind. Pretend I didn't say anything."

"I have no idea what to do, Jay. His birthday is the day after tomorrow and I'm totally clueless about what to do." Lily sat down next to him before lying on her bed and putting her hands on her face.

"Bullshit," Jason replied. Lily sat up straight and glared at him.

"First of all, language young man. Second of all, what the hell?"

"Young man? I'm two weeks younger than you. Bruce literally calls us the twins," Jason reminded her. "And second of all, you know exactly what to do. I know you do. This isn't about Billy's birthday, it's about what happens after. He's turning thirteen, remember?"

"Of course, I remember."

"Then do you remember the promise you two made? After he turns thirteen he's going to ask you out," Jason said.

"That was two years ago, Jay. I doubt he remembers that. And even if he does I doubt he still feels that way anymore," Lily told him.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Back the fuck up, sis. That's the most idiotic and stupid ass thing you've ever said." Lily seemed slightly offended at his comment but Jason held up a hand. "No, no. Let me speak. Since I have met Billy all I can see when I'm with you two is how much he adores you. He makes it very clear that he would move heaven and earth for you. And I don't know how you are so blind to not be able to see that, but WOMAN MY GOD HE LOVES YOU!"

Lily didn't know how good Jason actually was at observing people's emotions. As much as he didn't portray his own very well, he could definitely read people. And it was only then she realized that.

"You're right," she sighed. "I'm overreacting."

"I told you," Jason said in a sing-song voice.

"Don't push it," Lily told him.

"And you pace like Uncle Barry."

"I pace because of him."

Lily waited on the park bench, bouncing her leg nervously while playing with her jacket. Fawcett City got really cold in the winter, and a lot of snow. She had no idea how this was going to go. It could literally be one of the best days of her life (which isn't really a high bar to beat) or one of the worst.

When she saw Billy walk op to her, she once again forgot he finally beat her when it came to height. She stood up and looked at him, not saying anything as he himself seemed to try to find something to stay instead.

"My mind just goes blank whenever I look at you. Whatever I can seem to think of to say to you just never seems good enough when it comes to this sort of thing. I just think, 'Wow, she's pretty amazing,' and say whatever the next thing on my mind is. Which right now is me asking you to be my girlfriend," Billy blurted out. Lily smiled and put her hands on his face.

"Yes. And you're amazing too Billy Batson," she replied before pulling him into a kiss. She hung her arms around his neck, feeling his wrap around her waist and pull her closer before picking her up and spinning around. Lily laughed as she pressed her forehead against his, giving him a quick peck before looking at him.

"I feel like I've waited my whole life for that."

"Worth the wait?"

"Definitely."
