through her book with her head on her fist, scanning over the words. She was only half paying attention to it. She couldn't help but let her mind drift off. After four years she didn't have anything to worry about. No crazy convoluted missions that had more meaning behind them. She never worried about school, for her that was easy. No random family problems. Or relationship problems, which she's never actually had before. But everything was quiet.

Lily didn't like it.

It was very uncomfortable. It made the world seem quiet. She preferred it when it was loud.

Lily laid her book on her nightstand and groaned before pulling the covers over her head. She had to face the truth.

She was an adrenaline junkie.

She kind of wanted to blame Jason for it. Not just because they were siblings and they randomly blamed each other for stupid stuff all the time, but she was pretty sure it rubbed off of her from him.

When she heard a knock on her door, she quickly scrambled out of bed. I mean wouldn't anyone if they were bored out of their mind and a possible mission comes up in the middle of the night?

She was wrong. Sort of.

"Oh my god!" she yelled.

"You're boyfriend's dying," Jason stated blandly.

"Am not. I just... got stabbed," Billy corrected as if that made everything seem better. He was holding onto his shoulder with blood on his hand and a cut under his eye.

"You know you can bleed to death, right?" Jason questioned.

"Jason!" Lily yelled.

"What?"

"You, go sit down," she told Billy before turning to Jason. "You, out."

"Out? I'm not even in your room. I'm outside your door," Jason pointed out.

"Go!"

"Okay, okay. I'm going. Just make sure he doesn't die," the boy muttered before walking down the hall.

"He's not going to die!" Lily yelled after him before closing her door and walking to her bathroom. She opened the medicine cabinet and pulled out a first-aid kit before sitting behind Billy on her bed.

"Take off your shirt," she told him.

"I like where this is going." Lily smacked the side of his head. "Ow! Okay, okay."

"What the hell happened?"

"Well, turns out Captain Marvel isn't as invulnerable as I thought. At least not with- Ah!" Billy felt pain shoot through his shoulder as Lily cleaned off the blood, "steel."
