"Mina, you called my wife— My ex wife?!"
꧁༺ ༻꧂

Aiko and Mai had arrived back home, settling in as Aiko prepares Mai for bed. The mother safely tucks in her daughter, cuddling next to her.

"What was that monster, mama?" Mai asked, looking up at her mom.

Aiko paused for a moment, figuring out what to say. Before sighing, wanting her daughter to know the truth.

"The creature is called Gigantron, she's what we call a Kaiju," Aiko answered.

"K-Kaiju?" Mai said, sounding out the word.

"It is what we associate them as strange creatures, because we do not know what theh are," Aiko explained, wanting her daughter to understand the very thing that Aiko's work is based on.

Mai was deep in thought, trying to process every single word and piecing things together as best as she could. A four year old's brain can only think so far ahead.

   "Kaiju's are—"

A soft ringing call from her phone had interrupted their conversation, causing Aiko to pause and look at who was calling her.

   An unknown number.

Aiko answered the call with hesitation, wondering who it could be.

"Hello?" Aiko answered, careful not to speak to loudly as Mai was dosing off.

"Ms. Nakamura, it is Mina. Mr. Ken seems to have quite the trouble and would like to request your presence and professional assistance," The familiar voice of a robot answered.

Aiko's brows shot up, surprise taking over her features. The woman was baffled at the request.

"M-Mina? Ken is asking for my help?" Aiko asked, trying to process what the robot was saying.

"Yes, there seems to be a problem and we need your help. Ken does not want his father's help, so I have called you as our last resort," Mina said.

Aiko rolled her eyes, knowing Ken would have never asked for her. She knew the robot was the one to suggest calling her or Ken's father for help.

What Aiko was confused about was what they needed help with. It did not seem like he was asking about Mai, to which that irked Aiko.

"So the bastard didn't even ask me himself? Why should I help him when he hasn't done anything for me?" Aiko whispered, hoping her daughter didn't hesr her use a bad word.
