"What letters?...Aiko, what letters are you talking about?" ꧁༺ ༻꧂
"Do you think I honestly believe that you don't understand?"
Aiko glared at him, watching as he stood up slowly. Watching her with caution.
"Yes! I don't understand what you're talking about, Aiko. Why are you so upset with me?" Kenji asked, his anger rising, letting the exhaustion of recent events flow out of him.
"WhyI'm upset with you?" Aiko asked rhetorically. Her tone almost mocking.
"Yes, Aiko. Why are you so upset with me? I simply said I was happy for you. You got the happy ending you've always wanted!" Kenji said, raising his voice at her.
Aiko shook her head in disbelief, scoffing at his response. How dare he?
"You're unbelievable," Aiko whispered.
"Me? How about you?! You're over there raging on me about something I don't understand," Kenji defended himself as he narrowed his eyes at her.
"I spent four years...Four years, Kenji. Trying to get a hold of you!" Aiko said, pointing at him.
"What...?" Kenji asked, flabbergasted.
"What? Speechless now?" Aiko said, shaking her head as she sent him an annoyed grin.
"I spent four years, calling you, sending you emails...I spent four years, everyday sending you letters. Not once did you reply to me, or even seen the messages," Aiko said, exploding on him.
"I sent you...damn letters. That's how badly I needed...I needed to talk to you," Aiko said, tears welling up in her eyes.
Kenji stared at her confused and angry, angry about everything in the world. Angry about himself.
"What...What letters?... Aiko, what letters are you talking about?" Kenji questioned, his voice broke as he asked about the letters.
Aiko stared at him in confusion, as she didn't understand why he was so hung up on the letters.
"It's not just the letters, Kenji," Aiko said, reminding him of the other ways she's tried to contact him.
"I changed my number, because I was a coward. I knew if I kept your number with my old one, I'd call you. Beg for you... I changed everything about me and what I am, after our divorce," Kenji revealed, lowering his head as he avoided looking into her eyes.
