"I loved you,"
꧁༺ ༻꧂

   "Alright, who's first?"

Aiko rolled her eyes at her ex husband, who just moved back to Japan. Kenji Sato was now playing for the Giants, she then scoffed at his cocky expression, and turned away from the TV. Aiko's attention now on the small giggling child in front of her.

"Mai, please clean up your mess. Grandpa is coming soon, you don't want him to get hurt, do you?" Aiko said, leaning on her right leg while her hand on her hip.

Mai Nakamura pouted her lips before shaking her head, her big starry eyes staring back up at her mother before rushing off to the middle of the living room and cleaning up her toys.

"I do it for the fans. It's all about fundamentals,"

Aiko's eyes dart back to her television, as her ears perked up at his voice. His damn cocky voice.

Aiko glanced down toward her four year old daughter, seeing how close she resembled her father. Her little Mai, born a few months after the divorce.

Aiko had been two or three months pregnant the day she had closed the door on Kenji. She had found out a couple of days when she finally went to the doctor's office after a couple of months of not being able to.

Aiko had tried to send Kenji numerous messages about her pregnancy, and to no avail, the man did not want to hear from her at all.

To her last resort, Aiko had gotten help from her father in law. Even though she and Kenji weren't married anymore, Hayao Sato would always be a second father to her.

Mr. Sato had asked Aiko if she wanted him to tell Kenji about Mai, but even he was unheard from his son. Aiko believed that it was the universe's way of telling her she didn't need a man to help raise her baby.

But, she knew that Mai would want to know her who her father is one day. When that happens, Aiko would make sure her daughter was ready.

The doorbell rang at her door, causing Mai to scream as already knowing who it was.

"Grandpa! Grandpa! Grandpa!" Mai chanted excitedly, before racing toward the door.

Aiko shook her head softly at ther daughter, smiling at how adorable she was.

Aiko approached the door, opening it and smiling at the old man. Letting him inside, as his granddaughter jumped at him for a hug.
