『Reader POV』
The next morning, sunlight filters through the curtains, casting a warm glow across my room. I stretch languidly, memories of last night's party replaying in my mind. The mix of excitement and embarrassment floods back, making me wince slightly. I sigh, determined to face the day with a fresh perspective.
Slipping out of bed, I head to the kitchen, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee guiding me. Sethos is already there, his back to me as he pours himself a cup. My heart skips a beat, remembering the unresolved tension between us.
"Morning," I say, trying to keep my tone casual.
He turns, a small smile playing on his lips. "Morning. Want some coffee?"
"Sure," I reply, taking a seat at the table.
As he hands me a mug, I muster the courage to break the silence. "About last night... I'm sorry for leaving so abruptly. It was just... overwhelming."
Sethos nods, his expression softening. "It's okay. I figured something must have happened. I just wish you'd stayed to talk."
I take a sip of coffee, gathering my thoughts. "I wanted to. But when Cyno came out, it just threw me off. I... was about to tell you something important."
His eyebrows raise in curiosity. "Oh? What was it?"
I take a deep breath, the words on the tip of my tongue. "I... Sethos, I-"
Before I can finish, my phone buzzes on the table. I glance at the screen, seeing a message from Tighnari.
𝔹𝕣𝕠𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕣 (ℕ𝕒𝕣𝕚) <𝟛𝟛𝟛: Morning! Can we talk?
I sigh, setting the phone aside. "Sorry, it's Tighnari. He wants to talk."
Sethos chuckles softly. "Seems like everyone's got something to say this morning."
I nod, feeling a mix of frustration and amusement. "Yeah, it looks like it."
"Well, don't let me keep you. Go ahead and call him back. We can talk later," Sethos says, giving me a reassuring smile.
I hesitate for a moment, then nod. "Thanks, Seth. I'll be right back."
I step into my room, closing the door behind me before dialing Tighnari's number. He answers on the second ring.
"Hey," he greets, his voice filled with concern. "How are you holding up?"
"I'm okay," I reply, sinking onto my bed. "Just a bit... overwhelmed."
"I figured. Listen, about last night... I'm sorry Cyno interrupted. We didn't realize you were having an important moment."
"It's not your fault," I assure him. "I just... I was so close to telling him, and then it all fell apart."
"Well, you know what they say: third time's the charm," Tighnari quips, trying to lighten the mood.
I chuckle softly. "Yeah, I hope so."
"Why don't we all meet up later? Maybe a change of scenery will help clear your mind," he suggests. "And by the way, I may have another idea to bring you two closer, of course, only if you're okay with it too. But let's discuss that later, okay? I'll tell Cyno to force Sethos to play TGC with him." Tighnari chuckles, and I can already imagine the sight of the two playing Cyno's silly card game.
"That sounds good," I agree. "Thanks, Nari. Really, for everything."
After we hang up, I return to the kitchen, finding Sethos engrossed in a book. I sit next to him, and only after a few seconds of bouncing my leg, Sethos hand is already on my knee again.
