"I still can't believe this is happening..." I mutter to myself as Sethos and I step into our apartment. Our clothes are drenched, soaked all the way through, and the chill of the rain clings to our skin, but neither of us seem to care. The door closes behind us with a soft thud, and the sound reverberates through the small space, filling the silence that's fallen between us.

Sethos, standing beside me, shakes his head, sending droplets of rainwater scattering across the floor. He looks over at me, his eyes still carrying the weight of the moment we just shared, the kiss still fresh in both of our minds. His lips part as if he wants to say something, but then he hesitates, letting the words linger in the unspoken air between us.

I take a deep breath, my chest still tight with a mixture of excitement and nerves. The apartment feels warmer than the storm we left behind, but the cold from outside still clings to my skin. I wrap my arms around myself, suddenly feeling the weight of the rain-soaked clothes.

Sethos glances at me, his expression softening, and without saying a word, he crosses the room to grab a couple of towels from the bathroom. He hands me one with a small smile, and I take it, grateful for something to focus on. I bury my face in the fabric for a moment, trying to regain my composure, trying to steady the rush of emotions swirling inside me.

"Here," he says softly, his voice breaking the quiet. He drapes his own towel over his head, using it to ruffle his already damp hair. "We should probably change out of these before we catch a cold."

I nod, still processing everything that's happened. The heavy words from earlier, "I don't want to lose you", keep replaying in my mind, echoing over and over as I replay the way his lips felt against mine. It wasn't just a kiss, it was everything. It was a promise, an unspoken acknowledgment that something between us had finally shifted.

"Yeah," I say, my voice sounding smaller than I intended. "Good idea."

I turn to head toward my room, but before I take more than a step, Sethos' hand catches my wrist, stopping me in my tracks. I look up at him, my heart skipping a beat, and for a moment, neither of us says anything. His thumb brushes lightly against my skin, the warmth of his touch standing in contrast to the chill that still clings to the air.

"Thanks for telling me. I know this must have been hard." He ruffles my damp hair, his smile slowly returning. I nod silently, sighing as I feel a sense of reassurance and warmth spread through my chest. "Thanks for not... pushing me away," I mumble, my look softening with affection.

He lets go of my wrist, and I make my way into my room, peeling off the wet clothes clinging to my skin, changing into something more comfortable; a pair of sweatpants and an oversized shirt. I still feel the cold lingering in my bones, suddenly asking myself if we can still cuddle like before, without things getting awkward.

Glancing in the mirror, my reflection looks like a tired, pathetic mess. The sight makes my eyes widen as I realize that I already looked like this when Sethos found me. How embarrassing... I step back into the living room, looking around to see Sethos lying on the couch, his eyes closed.

Is he waiting for me? Before I can finish the thought, my body moves on its own, and I lie down next to him, wrapping my arms around his waist as I cuddle up to his warm body.

Sethos shifts slightly as I settle next to him, but he doesn't pull away. Instead, his arm instinctively drapes over my shoulder, pulling me closer. His warmth seeps into my skin, chasing away the lingering cold from the rain, and I sigh softly, feeling the tension I'd been holding onto all night begin to melt.
