Chapter 25 - The Choice
Aline stood at the crossroads, her heart pounding in her chest. She had to make a choice, a choice that would change her life forever.
To the left, she saw a path of darkness, a path that led to the Shadow King and the ancient power. To the right, she saw a path of light, a path that led to safety and uncertainty.
The voices in her head grew louder, more insistent. "Don't do it, Aline. Don't embrace your destiny."
But Aline knew what she had to do. She took a deep breath and stepped onto the path of darkness.
As she walked, the shadows grew darker, the air grew colder. Aline knew she was taking a risk, but she also knew it was the only way to save Eridoria.
Suddenly, a figure appeared before her. It was Ethan, Liam's brother.
"Well done, Aline," Ethan said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "You've made the choice I knew you would."
Aline's eyes narrowed. "What do you want, Ethan?"
Ethan's smile grew wider. "I want to take you to the Shadow King. He's waiting for you."
