Chapter 16 | | Ichinose Honami

SUZUNES POV

Am I overthinking?

Two weeks ago, Ichinose Honami became Kiyotaka's secretary on the student council. Yes of course, it's all a matter of work but I really don't like it.

"Can I borrow Kiyotaka-kun? I need his help with some paper work." Ichinose knocked on the classroom door, everyone's attention diverting towards Kiyotaka. A small sigh escaped his lips as he got up, grabbing his bag and walking out. He gave me a small wave before doing so.

Paper work?

Surely that's something one can do by themselves without the help of others. And surely there were people there other than Kiyotaka who could help her. She wasn't incompetent by any means.

"Suzune-chan~, come eat with us since mr. boyfriend is gone to do whatever they do in the student council." Kei said, grabbing my bag for me, urging me to come with her. I wasn't going to deny of course. She was my... best friend. Though I would never let her hear me say that. I quite enjoy my relationship with Kei, perhaps it is because we are opposites. Who knows? Wait- that line feels familiar... anyways.

Me: Kiyotaka, wanna watch a movie afterschool?

I sat down in the cafeteria with her, Sato and Matsushita, taking my bag and grabbing my lunch out of it.

"Su-Zu-Ne~!" Leering hands made their way to my lunch but I quickly pushed it closer to me.

"You have your own lunch."

"Eh~! But Suzune-chan..." Kei gave me the overly exaggerated puppy dog eyes, "Your cooking is just better..."

I sighed, "Tomorrow I'll make you your own." She smiled brightly, "You're paying me." Her smile vanished.

"You're so mean~."

Sato and Matsushita laughed at us, "I knew you guys were close but to think that miss ice queen Elsa from our first half of the year would turn out like this when she got a boyfriend~..." Sato teased.

"I know right~ I kind of like this side to Horikita-chan! She's too cute~!" Matsushita added onto the teasing, causing me to feel the blood rush to my cheeks.

We continued to make small talk until I accidentally blurted something out, "What do you guys think of Ichinose?" I bit my lip, cursing my mouth internally.

"Hmm... I think she's really pretty and she's got a great personality..." Sato said, peering around to see if she was in here.

"Massive boobs... gosh I feel sad for her back." Kei held her hands towards her chest, shuddering at the thought.

"I think she's way too nice. It kind of makes me wonder if she's got some dark secret lurking there you know?" Matsushita sighed, "But it is what it is~ I've only talked to her a few times anyways."

I checked my phone to see if Kiyotaka responded to my message, to which he unfortunately didn't.

"Wait!" Kei suddenly said, "Are you jealous of Ichinose?" She asked.

"No!" I said, a bit too loudly for my liking. Kei raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms - almost telling me to not lie to her face.

"I'm not jealous. I just don't like the idea of her being around him too much. I mean- she's always with him, isn't she? I trust Kiyotaka a lot but it still makes me uneasy and-." I stopped speaking as I saw Kiyotaka approaching, and unfortunately, with Ichinose trailing behind him.

"Hey."

"Hey to you too."

"Hey guys~! Can I eat with you?" Ichinose asked and then sat down with us anyway without hearing our response. Kiyotaka sat beside me and then Ichinose sat on the other side of him.
