Chapter 22 | | The Event Selection Exam

KIYOTAKA's POV

Today marked the day the Event Selection Exam would begin. Suzune and I, as per usual, walked to school together hand in hand with her head leaning gently on my shoulder.

As we were walking out of the dorm building, Ichinose Honami just so happened to be walking out as well.

"Well, if it isn't the two leaders of Class Defective- I mean D." She said, a devious smile on her face. I truly do wonder what happened to the girl. I almost have a feeling the Ryuuen or Sakayangi influenced her to change, although, their second class leader Kanzaki Ryuji perhaps influenced it as well.

I took a glance at Suzune and she done the same back at me, just from eye contact we both agreed to just continue walking, acting as if that piece of trash didn't even exist.

"How cruel~, ignoring me completely?" And then all of a sudden, she tried to latch onto my arm to which I immediately slapped her hand away, glaring blankly at her.

"I recommend you refrain from doing that Ichinose." Her being in my sight already made me want to sigh out of annoyance,

"You might make a nickname out of your self," Suzune smiled evily, it sent shivers down my spine, "Honami the Home-wrecker. It rolls off the tongue perfectly, doesn't it Kiyotaka?" Suzune asked, I didn't know she was good at provoking others, it was amusing. I nodded in agreement.

"It indeed does." I said. For a brief moment, I saw Ichinose's eyebrow twitch and her smile slightly falter, "If you attempt to provoke someone, Ichinose, I suggest you learn how to avoid provocation yourself. Your smile faltered at the simple words my beautiful girlfriend said. Once again, you've disappointed me and your path to becoming Class D is only further proven by your incompetence. Suzune and I will take our leave."

We immediately re begun our walk to school, "I wish you no luck in the exam." I said as we started. She evidently took the hint and waited a few minutes before starting her own journey to school, which was only thankful, rumours are quite a hassle to handle.

"The first event will be... Basketball!"

It was almost as if everything was going our way. A perfectly strong beginning which was far to our favour. I enticed Ken to choose less relevant people who weren't good at much in our class as he could carry the team easily. Yes- Class B had some athletically capable people but would they be able to stand a chance against a guy who's trained in basketball all his life aiming to become a pro? The chances are unlikely.

"Ken. Win by a margin of 20 points and I'll give you a week off of studying." I said, giving him an incentive to try even harder. We sat down on the bleachers that were set up in one of the gymnasiums.

"You got it boss!" He said, a grin appearing on his face.

We all watched the performance that he put on, "Kiyotaka, you're smirking. It's making me uncomfortable." Suzune said beside me, looking at my face and then grabbing my cheeks to get rid of the smirk.

"Apologies, my love, it seems that I am enjoying watched class B crumble and loose morale in their first loss." She blushed at the sudden nickname I gave her. I wanted to try it out since I had searched up nicknames to call your significant other on google. And, it seemed to have worked from her reaction. She hit me.

I disregarded the hit she gave me and decided to watch Ken dominate the other team in his sport to which he did - effortlessly.

I watched as he threw the ball against the backboard of the hoop, jumped, grabbed the falling ball and then dunked on the opposing team whilst having the biggest toothy smile on his face. It was amusing to watch him thrash them with enjoyment.
