Wilting Rose (Shadamy)

Chapter 5

Amy, Cream, Sonic, and Tails enter finding Shadow already seated waiting for Amy and her new guest before eating. Noticing there approach Shadow gets up and pulls out a nearby chair for Amy, only for Sonic to dash to it saying " Thanks Shad, how nice of you to pull out my seat." earning small laughs from Tails and Cream, while Shadow gives a slight frown and a hmph. Amy giggles lightly looking at the way everyone has seated themselves Sonic at the head of the table, Shadow to his right, Tails on his left, next to him sits Cream, Amy then takes the seat next to Shadow leaving the end of the table across from Sonic empty. Shadow serves Amy and himself a slice of pot pie, before serving it to Cream, Tails, and Sonic. Begrudgingly taking his seat next to Sonic, taking a forkful of pie, and blowing on it before taking a bite. Enjoying the taste of the flaky crust, savory gravy, the vegetables, and well seasoned chicken. "This is ama-" Shadow is quickly interrupted by Sonic "Ames did you think about what I said this morning?" he beamed with a wink.The  pink hedgehog stared back blankly unsure of what he is talking about deciding it would be best to ask "No I guess I must have forgotten been a bit of a busy day, do you telling me again?" Sonic smiles drops briefly as he happily takes the chance to tell her again "Do you want to go with me on a double date with Tails and Cream tomorrow night? Me and Sal have decided to see other people a month ago, I figured it wouldn't hurt to give you that date you always wanted."  Amy sits there stunned carefully thinking over her words " Sorry, Sonic I don't feel that way anymore besides you said so yourself it would never work between us were like brother and sister." Undeterred Sonic says " Then don't think of it as a date think of it as two great friends hanging out on there friends date." Cream chimes in "Please Sonic, try and not force her into going." Amy with a soft smile says "I can't I have plans tomorrow after work." Sonic swiftly gets up out of his seat "Then we could go tonight, what do ya say Ames?" as Shadow grabs a second slice of pie he makes an attempt at changing the subject "The pie is amazing Rose, I might have to steal your recipe from you sometime."

Tails wanting a change of topic joins in as well "The food is delicious Amy, thanks for inviting us in at such a late hour, but while there is a chance Shadow do you mind talking a bit more about the mission that you wanted everyone for?" seeing a chance to avoid the blue males continued advances the pink hedgehog speaks "Actually I am a bit curious about this mission as well you told me a bit about it earlier, what is the plan exactly?" Shadow stiffens slightly as he speaks " Tails and I have a plan but, it isn't set in stone I would like to get confirmation of those joining the mission before settling on a plan. The current plan that we have involves us breaking into three teams, teams one and two will consist of two man squads there main goal will be infiltrating the base placing trackers on the shipments that will be leaving, and locating the central command terminal in the base this should give us the locations of other nearby potential sites, allowing us to see the size of this operation." Team three will consist of the remaing members; if any of the aforementioned teams are discovered they will need to give them an escape route. Combat must be avoided, stealth is our main focus teams 1 and 2 will consist of Rouge, Sticks, Rose, and myself; team three will be Sonic, Knuckles, and Omega, then Tails will be tech support and coms." "So why is Ames apart of the infiltration team?" Sonic says with a slight frown at Shadow "Rose possesses the ability to temporarily turn herself invisible with a chaos emerald, I too can use a similar ability utilizing my own chaos energy. (AN: The power comes from Sonic battle on the gba it's called chaos burst.) With this in mind Rose and myself will be infiltrating to gain access to the computer, where Rouge and Sticks will be responsible for placing trackers on shipments." Cream turns to the dark hedgehog "Then what are the plans to get inside the base itself, you can't break the door down, nor can you hack it the surveillance cameras would give you away." Shadow replies "We will have to wait and tail one of the patrols into the base while invisible and sticking to the shadows and moving quickly." Tails inquires "Why is that if you can turn invisible, why do you need to sneak around in the shadows?" Shadow turns to the young inquisitive fox " When I turn invisible my shadow remains and I am certain that Rose is the same, whether or not we are caught comes down to whether or not they spot our shadows and raise the alarm."
