They're at the hospital after Larry, Cassie, and Trey found Cordell buried alive. Luna had been shot and killed while out in the field and they managed to catch the suspect.

Cordell is lying in the hospital bed, his family surrounding his bed.

Janie is standing closest to him, next to Stella. She's chewing on her thumb, staring at the bed.

"You look like hell, Cordell." Bonham comments.

"Uh, thanks, daddy. Uh... it's good to see you, too." Cordell replies.

"You know, they, uh, they said that you were, uh, you were buried... buried alive, and... I-I just couldn't help but think that--"

"Liam, hey, hey, hey." Cordell stops him. Janie finally looks at his face. "I'm fine, okay? I'm-- I'm gonna be fine. Really."

"I can't tell you how relieved I am to hear that." Liam says.

Janie stares at him for a few moments before looking away. She fights every muscle in her body that wants to tackle him into a tight hug. Partly because she doesn't want to hurt him more, but also because she's angry at him for doing something so dangerous. She knows danger is part of his job, but she also knows partners are assigned for a reason. Even though she's angry, she's also relieved he's at least alive and isn't in such a bad shape as he could be. He could be dead.

"I have so much to tell you, all of you." Cordell says, looking at Geri. "Um... when I was drugged, I-I dreamt you were all with me. But-- but I, uh..."

"Excuse me." They all turn to the doctor who walks in. "I still have quite a few tests to run before I can release him, and Cordell needs his rest."

Everybody starts to head out, letting Cordell rest. Janie hesitates in leaving, her hands flexing in fight against her mind.

Janie listens to her body, leaning forward and gently wrapping her arm around his shoulder. Cordell rests his hand on her back, rubbing his hand back and forth.

Janie kisses him on the cheek before pulling away.

"I'm glad you're okay. Alive." She quietly says, sniffling. Cordell gives her a small smile, an apologetic and sympathetic look in his eyes. He gently squeezes her hand before letting her go.

The family, aside from Stella, get to the waiting room where Larry is.

"Larry, I thought you were shot." Bonham says.

"Hey. Ah, no. Yeah. It hit me in the vest." Larry says, standing up. "I'll be all right. I just wanted to see y'all, check in on Cordi."

"Thank you so much for saving my boy's ass. Again." Bonham says, giving him a firm handshake.

"Thank you." Abilene slams into Larry for a tight hug. Larry groans in pain at the impact. Abilene's eyes widen, quickly pulling away. "Oh, my gosh. Larry, I am so sorry."

"I'm fine." Larry assures. "I've been shot before."

"Check your six, captain." Bonham warns. They all turn as Kelly rushes in.

"Hey." Larry greets.

"Hi, hi, hi." Kelly greets, hugging her husband. The others move away to give them their space. "Why do you got to keep getting yourself shot?"

"I don't know. For the attention, I guess." Larry remarks.

"It's time to come home, hon." Kelly tells him.

"Um, not quite yet." Larry argues. "Uh, Cassie's in with the medical examiner."

"I heard about Luna." Kelly says.
