Then, the PE teacher blew the whistle and made an announcement.
"Alright, everyone, listen up!" the teacher called out. "We're going to mix things up. Girls from both divisions will be divided into two groups."
Yara's heart sank as she realized she might be separated from her friends. The teacher started calling out names, and Yara got placed in the group with Division B.
She glanced over at her friends from Division A, who were now her opponents. "This is going to be interesting," she thought.
"And one more thing," the teacher added, "The winning team will get a chance to perform at the upcoming festival!"
Yara's eyes widened with excitement. "We have to win this," she thought.
The game restarted with new energy. Yara found herself playing alongside Xiumin and his friends.
"Let's give it our best," Xiumin said, smiling at her.
Yara nodded, determined. "Let's do this!"
The game was intense. Yara dribbled the ball skillfully, passing it to Xiumin. He maneuvered around defenders with ease.
"Great pass, Yara!" Xiumin called out.
"Thanks!" Yara replied, focusing on the game.
Division A was equally determined. RM, the leader of Division A, shouted instructions to his team.
"Watch out for their passes!" RM warned.
Yara intercepted a pass intended for RM and sprinted down the field. She saw Xiumin making a run towards the goal and passed the ball to him with precision. Xiumin controlled it expertly and fired a powerful shot that sailed past the goalkeeper, scoring a crucial point for their team.
The crowd erupted into cheers as their team took the lead. Yara glanced over at her friends from Division A, who looked determined but slightly disappointed.
"Awesome shot, Xiumin!" Chen shouted from the sidelines, pumping his fist in the air.
With time running out, Division A launched a final offensive. Yara and her teammates defended fiercely, blocking shots and clearing the ball. The game ended with their team narrowly holding onto their lead, securing their spot to perform at the upcoming festival.
As the final whistle blew, Yara felt a mix of relief and exhilaration. She ran over to Xiumin and the rest of their team, who were celebrating their hard-earned victory.
"That was incredible!" Yara exclaimed, breathing heavily but smiling brightly.
Xiumin grinned and hugged her. "You played amazingly, Yara. We couldn't have done it without you," he said warmly.
Yara nodded gratefully, feeling proud of what they had accomplished together.
After the game, as they walked off the field, Yara glanced back at her friends from Division A. There was a mixture of disappointment and respect on their faces.
"Great game, everyone," RM said, extending a hand to Yara. "You guys earned it."
For the next five days, the entire school buzzed with festival preparations. Decorations went up, performances were rehearsed, and excitement filled the air.
Yara and the boys from Division B practiced their performance tirelessly. They had chosen a medley of their favorite songs, showcasing each member's unique talents. Xiumin, with his deep voice, harmonized beautifully with Yara's melodic tunes. The others contributed with instruments and choreography, creating a dynamic and captivating performance.
"Let's give it our all!" Xiumin encouraged during a break. "We've got this."
Yara smiled, her confidence growing. "Yeah, let's show everyone what we're made of."
The festival day finally arrived, and the school was adorned with colorful banners and twinkling lights. Stalls lined the courtyard, offering various games and treats. Students and parents filled the venue, eagerly awaiting the performances.
Division B took the stage, and the crowd fell silent in anticipation. As the music started, Yara felt a rush of adrenaline. She poured her heart into the performance, her voice blending seamlessly with the boys'. The audience erupted in applause as they finished, and Yara couldn't help but beam with pride.
After the performance, Yara stepped outside to grab a drink of water. She felt a sense of accomplishment and was eager to celebrate with her friends. But as she turned a corner, a group of girls blocked her path.
"Well, well, look who it is," sneered one of the girls, her eyes glinting with jealousy. "The new girl who thinks she can steal all the attention."
Yara's heart raced. "I don't want any trouble. Just let me go."
The girls laughed cruelly. "Not so fast. We have a message for you."
Before Yara could react, they shoved her, and she stumbled to the ground. They taunted her, their words cutting deep. Just as she felt completely helpless, a strong voice cut through the commotion.
"Hey, what's happening here?" Kai asked firmly, glaring at the girls.
The girls hesitated, surprised by his sudden arrival. One of them said rudely, "None of your business, other group."
Kai tightened his fists. "Leave her alone. Now."
His confidence made the girls hesitate, and they reluctantly backed off, giving Yara one last mean look before scattering.
Yara looked up at Kai, feeling grateful and embarrassed. "Thank you," she whispered.
Kai nodded, smiling reassuringly. "Anytime. Are you okay?"
Yara managed a weak smile. "Yeah, I'm fine."
But instead of staying, she quickly thanked him and hurried away, feeling like she needed to be alone.
Running through the school grounds, she bumped into Chanyeol from her class. He grabbed her arm gently to steady her, looking concerned.
"Yara, are you alright?" Chanyeol asked softly, his eyes worried.
Tears filled Yara's eyes, and she shook her head, unable to speak.
Chanyeol's face softened. "Let's sit down."
But before he could say more, Yara pulled away suddenly, feeling overwhelmed. "I-I need to go home," she stammered, her voice shaking.
She ran off, leaving Chanyeol confused and hurt by her sudden departure.
Meanwhile, RM from Yara's class had seen everything. Worried, he ran to his friends.
"I saw Yara crying, and then Kai stepped in," RM explained quickly. "I think they did something to her."
Jungkook and Jimin looked serious, wanting to protect her. Without hesitation, they went to confront the other group, looking angry and accusing.
"You hurt Yara!" Jungkook shouted.
Xiumin from the other group stepped forward, looking confused. "No, we didn't. She was being bullied by those girls. We were helping her."
But things were tense, and nobody listened well. Before they could explain more, they started fighting. Other students gathered around, cheering like it was a movie brawl.
As the fight got worse, both groups threw punches. It wasn't a big fight, but tempers were high, and some got hurt a bit.
In the end, teachers rushed in to stop the fight. They separated the boys from each group. Everyone went away, leaving the place quiet and tense.
Later, at home, Yara felt lost and confused. She locked herself in her room, crying. She couldn't understand what had happened. Tired, she finally fell asleep.
The next morning, Yara woke up feeling sad. She knew things had changed between the groups, and she blamed herself for it. Not sure what to do next, she got ready for school, hoping to fix things with her friends.
