Mannat ran to her room and quickly changed into a comfortable pair of clothes. Randheer had also changed his clothes.
Mannat took her laptop, phone and a basket. She knocked on his door and he said "Come in!"
She went inside and saw he was not there. She kept the things on a table. As she was about to move ahead, her foot got stuck and she was about to slip. She closed her eyes tightly waiting to kiss the ground but she felt a strong arm securing her and preventing her from falling. "Careful!" He said and she opened her eyes. They looked into each other's eyes. She held his shoulder for support. He put a stray hair strand behind her hair and said, "You were really looking mesmerizing today." He caressed her right cheek with his hand and leaned in to kiss her forehead but realized what he was doing and immediately stopped. He made her stand properly."Thank you." She replied for his out of the blue compliment feeling good that he found her mesmerizing today.
"I mean, everyone was saying." He said scratching the back of his neck. She felt bad listening to this but didn't want to drag the topic.
"Can we watch the movie, now?" She asked and he said "OKAY!"
"I'll do the setup first. Then, we can watch." She said and he looked at her confused.
"BTW, how may I address you?" She asked and he replied 'Randheer'. She nodded her head.
"Why did you want to watch a movie with him?" He asked.
"Because he's my friend."
"But you have hardly met him about 2-3 times."
"Yes, it's true but we've talked a lot after that and I think meetings are not important in friendship but the bond is." She said.
"Correct!" He said and again asked, "So, why did you agree to watch it with me?"
"Well, we can try to be friends. Besides, my mom is friends with your mom. That's why, I agreed."
"Okay, we can try." He said in a calm tone but was bursting into happiness from inside as he would get a chance to at least talk to her.
Then, her phone starts ringing. She was arranging the room for movie. So, she asked him to look who's calling. She had placed some pillows in the middle of the bed. She had placed her laptop on them. The basket of snacks was placed between the head of the bed and the pillows. Then, she started searching for a movie.
"Ridham's calling." He said but she tried to ignore his call.
"Who's Ridham?" He asked while sitting on the bed where she asked him to.
"Just a classmate." She answered while answering his call and sitting at her place.R- Hello Mannat, How are you?
M- Hello Ridham and I am good.
R- I wanted to tell something to you.
M- Continue!
R- I..I...I really like you, Mannat. Please be my girlfriend.
M- Are you drunk?
R- What do you mean by that?
M- What I mean is are you high on something or is it just air?
R- It's not a joke, Mannat.
M- That's what I want to say my life's not a joke that you are trying to be the clown in it. See, Ridham I've told you that I am not interested in such things. And Vaise bhi, I've someone I like.
(Randheer's face snapped towards her listening to this.)
Then, she cut the call and blocked Ridham. She kept the phone aside.
"You like someone?" He asked.
She smiled looking at him and replied, "No." Relief washed over him listening to it but the next moment the relief left him when she said, "I love him."
"Who's he?"
"I'll tell you once he agrees!" She stated and his heart began sinking.
"But still.."
"Arey, let it be na. First, we'll watch the movie. Then, talk about everything else."
"Okay. So, which movie are we going to watch?"
"Honeymoon." She said and he started coughing.
"Relax! It's just a name. BTW, It's a punjabi movie."
"Okay."
They started watching the movie after that.
Movie was going on when Avyansh's message popped on her mobile. She looked into the message and he paused the movie. She smiled looking at message.
"Just a minute, Randheer." She said while calling him and he just nodded.
"Hello!"
"Agye yaad meri?"
"Ooo! Were you missing me?"
"Why would I miss you?"
"It's okay. I'll cut the call then."
"Okay, I did. Now, about the deal?"
"Hehe! I knew you missed me behna. BTW, where are you? I'll bring your ice cream."
"Wow! I am with Randheer in room number 143. BTW, bring two. "
He gulped listening to the room number. Avyansh had a smirk on his face and said, "Okay. Vaise, Such a great room number."
"Yes, it is. Now, when are you coming? BTW, your friends."
"They are in my room. I've come out especially for your ice cream."
"You can at least do that for me." She said with a wide smile.
"Which one do you want?" He asked
"Butterscotch. And which one do you want?" She asked but Randheer denied saying, "I don't eat dessert."
"Please, have it today.......for me." She said he replied
"Okay. Whichever you want."
"Okay. So, two butterscotch. No, do one thing, bring a tub."
"Okay. You are being quite strategic, Mannat."
"My name sounds good from your mouth. So, please use it often."
"Shut up, Mannat." Avyansh said
"Why?"
"Why are you flirting with me in front of my jiju?"
"How....do....you...know?" She asked
"Your actions speak louder, princess."
"Okay. So what, I can't do anything about my feelings! BTW, did I really..?"
"Yes, you did." He said while laughing and she turned red with embarrassment.
"I..I mean, I didn't mean to."
"Seems like you don't know what's flirting!"
"It's nothing like that. I know how to flirt, okay."
"So, you did it intentionally." He laughed more saying this.
"No, I didn't. I didn't realise. But stop laughing, now."
"Okay."
"I got a call from Ridham."
"That bastard! Why don't you block him?"
"I've already done that."
"Thank God, at least you did something good. "Vaise, jiju kaise hai?" He asked and heat crept onto her cheeks listening to this. She turned red and said, "Abhi, He's good."
"Open the door, di!" He said and she went to open the door revealing a figure. Avyansh was standing there with a polythene containing ice cream and chocolate.
She hugged him and took the polythene. Then, she said bye and closed the door. She took out the tub and some chocolates. She kept the tub in center and brought two spoons from his kitchen.
"Now, let's start."
"You know, how to flirt?" He asked teasing her.
"Yes, I know. Do you want a trailer?"
"No, it's okay. We'll watch the movie only." He said focusing back on the movie."Vaise aap itne bhi akdu nhi hai!" She said and his focus went towards her.
"But don't you remember the name, ASR?"
"I mean, that was out of frustration."
"You were really much frustrated at that time?"
"Indeed, I was!"Then, the movie was about to end when Randheer felt something on his shoulder. He looked towards the side and saw her sleeping resting her face on his shoulder. A smile made its way to his face.
He placed a pillow on his lap and her face on the pillow by keeping the basket aside. He covered her with blanket. He intertwined their hands and kissed the back of her hand saying, "Sleep tight, baby."He closed her laptop and kept it on a side as well. He looked at her and said, "You are doing something to me, Amber. You are making me feel in a way I never did. Please don't fall for someone else as I won't be there to catch you."
Then, his phone started ringing. He quickly picked his phone not to disturb her sleep But she got disturbed a little. So, he massaged her head and she slept again. He looked at his phone and it was his grandma's call. Grandma's calling after 3 days was shocking.
He was thinking all this when Mannat wraps her arms around his waist and a smile forms on his face. He then picks up the call.G- Hello, beta. Kab aa rha hai vapis?
R- Dadi! Kl aa rha hu.
G- Kya baat hai bhut khush lg rha hai?
R- Kuch nhi dadi bs aise hi.
G- Acha beta jldi ajaa. Ek khushkhabri hai tere liye.
R- khi ye shadi ki khushkhabri to nhi hai, Dadi maa!
G- Tu ghar aa phir baat karenge. Aur uska khyal rkhna.
R- Kiska?
G- Jiske sath vha gya hai, uska!
Then, she cut the call and Randheer thinks about whom was she talking about. His gaze shifts toward Mannat who has hugged him tightly and is sleeping like a baby.He gently unwraps her arms around his waist and makes her lie on the other side of the bed. He goes to sit on the couch and starts working on his laptop.
