EVELYN HAD COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN SHE was supposed to be spending the day with Alex, hence the reason she was sitting in her bed, still in pajamas, while he sat in the chair in front of her desk, fixing his hair in the mirror.

"I hope you realise you like a rat when you wake up," Alex told her, glancing at her reflection.

Evelyn stood up from her bed, stretching her body. "Thanks?"

"You're welcome."

She pushed a Williams hat onto Alex's head with some force, holding it down for a moment while he attempted to get it off. "Leave your hair alone. It looks fine. Enjoy it while you have it," she said.

Alex turned on the desk chair to flip her off, throwing the hat back at her. "Would it hurt for you to move a little faster? I want to go."

Evelyn dragged herself to her wardrobe to grab a change of clothes and got changed and looking decent to be seen in public in her en suit in a personal record of three minutes.

She opened the door of the en suit and saw Alex on his phone. He looked up when he heard the door and stood up. "Finally," he said, releasing a dramatic sigh as he led the way down the stairs.

As soon as the laces of her shoes were tied, Alex was pulling her out the door, her keys in his hand. He locked the door behind them and handed them back to her before he walked over to his car, unlocking it using the car keys in his pocket.

Alex took his seat in the driver's seat and waited for Evelyn to get into the passenger side, and had to stop her from turning on the radio as soon as she got in. "How about we be sociable instead of listening to that crap?"

Evelyn stared at him for a moment before turning to face the window. "How about you tell me where we're going?"

Alex went to speak, but then shut his mouth as he started the engine. "Yeah, I... I haven't thought that far ahead yet."

"Great."
