Chapter 2
“So, do you think I'll send the invitations to everyone in school?” Mika asked for the nth time.
She's planning on throwing a house party in their rest house which is also a resort. She's currently contemplating about whether to invite everyone or only those who we know. I sighed and voice out my true opinion.
“You decide. But wouldn't it be too crowded if you invite everyone?” I didn't mean to be rude or purposely exclude some students.
My point is, we don't know everyone in school and inviting them to parties would be weird if we won't interact with them in the first place.
“But they're friends with our friends. We're in a huge circle so I guess it'll be fine. Zoey told me to invite everyone.” She started texting someone on her phone, probably sending invitations.
“Okay.” I mumbled.
I leaned my back and continued watching Zoey practice her routine with the cheerleading team. There's going to be a city meet next week where several public and private schools are invited to participate in the cheerdance competition. It will be held in our school because Roseville International School is known for having gigantic gymnasium. We also have the widest campus ground and basically everything about our school is outstanding that's why competitions are held here.
My eyes roam around the spacious gym until it landed on the boy far from us. He's sitting but he's not watching. I noticed he has a sketchbook on his lap and his hand moves along with the pencil. He then glanced at me and his eyes widen a fraction when he saw me looking at him too. He immediately looked down.
I raised a brow in confusion. Why is he surprised? I managed to see his face only for a split second. He's cute!
“Done sending! I only sent the invitations to everyone in senior high school. I thought of what you said. It'll be weird to invite the lower grade and especially the higher ups. It's gonna be awkward, even.” Mika stated while giggling.
“Yeah.”
“Go Zoey!” Mika suddenly stood up and cheered as Zoey got tossed to the air.
I'm always worried for Zoey whenever she practice and performs. She's a pro but I can't breathe whenever she's in the air doing her moves and tricks. Good thing there are responsible coaches and watchers around with their foam to catch everyone who might do a mistake.
But she's Zoey. She never mess up her performance. Mistake is not in her vocabulary.
“Oh my god!” Mika suddenly shrieked.
“What, what is it?” I looked at her.
“Would it be rude to uninvite someone to the party?” She asked with a worried tone.
“Why would you uninvite someone?”
“I sent the invitation to that nerd. I never plan on including him, though. It was just a mistake since I sent the message to everyone's school emails.” She answered and my eyes immediately widen to stop her.
“No! Don't uninvite him.”
Mika looked at me weirdly before scoffing. “Do you really think he's into parties? Everyone thinks he's weird since he doesn't talk much and has no friends.”
“Why do you think he's weird?”
“Duh! He's new. He has no friends. He doesn't speak to anyone. And he's always looking down! What if he's a serial killer, huh?” Mika dramatically exclaimed.
“You're overthinking.” I shook my head.
She looked back at her phone again. I looked at that boy's direction. Mika is unaware that he's here although far from us.
