Chapter 10

The days flew by so quickly. The next thing I know, it's the opening of the school's Foundation Day. It's a week long celebration.

There was a grand opening program in the gymnasium where the school President, stakeholders, and other important officials are giving speeches. It's the typical school program thing. There were also a few performances but after an hour and half, the program ended.

There were many events occuring simultaneously in different areas of the campus. There's ball games in the gymnasium, soccer at the field, volleyball and badminton in the covered court, and many more.

The art competition that Hyunjin joined was commencing at the social hall but I'm here at the gymnasium with my friends, watching Rome and Dave playing basketball.

I want to go see my boyfriend but my friends were just eager to watch the game together. Zoey is of course, at the front cheering for them, while Adrian and Mika are here with me at the upper part.

I glanced at my phone to look at the time. It's been fifteen minutes. I'll just excuse myself that I'll go to the bathroom. Maybe they won't ask for questions.

“Excuse me. I'll just go to the bathroom.” I said and stood up.

Mika held my hand and stood up, too. “I'm going, too!”

I gulped and was about to protest but she's already pulling me with her to go to the bathroom. I sighed as I mentally wish that I could teleport to the social hall right now to have a glance at Hyunjin.

“You know, no offense (Y/N) but I have a hunch that Zoey and Rome are a thing now.” Mika casually muttered after closing the cubicle door.

“None taken. That's good for them, though.” I muttered as I wash my hands on the sink in front of the mirror.

“Are you sure you're not jealous? You're… okay with it?” She asked in a careful but curious tone.

I looked at her through the reflection in the mirror. “Yeah. Why not? They're both my friend so I really don't see a problem with that?” I started brushing my hair with my fingers.

“But... you and Rome?”

“Nothing is between us. There never was.” I chuckled casually. Because that's the truth.

“Okay. But is Rome good with you? I noticed you guys are still not talking with each other when we hang out.” She expressed while tying her hair into a ponytail.

“I talk to him. It's him who ignores me.”

“Oh? That's not what Zoey told us last time.”

“Huh?”

Mika parted her lips to say something but a group of students walked inside the bathroom. We had no choice but to go outside to not get too crowded.

“What did Zoey told you last time?” I curiously ask Mika.

She looked at me and moved her shoulders up and down. “That she thought she saw you holding hands with a guy? I don't know. Is it true, though?”

“That's Hy— I mean...” I gulped when I remember that they don't like Hyunjin. “Yeah, I'm seeing someone these days.”

“For real? You didn't even tell us!” Mika seemed genuinely interested at how her eyes glimmered.

“I was planning to.”

“Fine! That guy must be lucky he managed to get you.” She said making me chuckle.

It's the other way around. I'm lucky because I got him. I'm the one who chased after him.
