Chapter 6

That's exactly what I did the next day.

“Thank you.” I smiled at Rome when he handed me a bouquet of flowers.

He waited for my class to finish and stood outside our classroom. Many students were looking, even teasing and cheering. Rome showed a charismatic smile when he saw my amusement.

“My parents set a date for a special dinner with your parents. They want us to go together next week.”

“Oh, really? Why? What's the occasion?”

“There's no occasion actually. But they just want to plan for our future.”

Oh?

My smile slowly faded. His words echoed at the back of my mind. Rome smiled widely and didn't seem to notice the change in my expression.

We arrived at our usual table at the school cafeteria. The whole group is already there waiting for us. They concluded that Rome and I are good with each other because of the flowers in my hand.

“The foundation day is approaching. I'm so excited! I heard the school stakeholders from another country are coming to visit and will do the ribbon cutting for the new building.” Mika expressed her excitement.

“Yeah, the cheer squad will perform for them. Right, Zoey?” Dave joined.

“Yeah. I'm actually looking forward for the ball.” Zoey muttered

“Yes! I they're going to post the theme and details some time this week.” Mika even opened her phone calendar to check.

And their conversation about it goes on and on.

I quietly finished the food on my tray without looking around to search for Hyunjin. I shouldn't care, right? But a part of me still wants to try. If I spot him, I know I'll run towards him willingly.

My train of thoughts were interrupted when a hand slammed on our table. I flinched and look up only to see Renz and his friends grinning at me.

“Renz? What's up?” Rome greeted them.

The idiot nodded his head and smirk. “I have something to tell you, actually.”

“Of course, what is it?” Rome leaned in.

Why do I have a bad feeling about it?

“You're courting (Y/N), right? You and the beauty queen are already a thing even before, right?”

“No—”

“Yeah!” Rome answered proudly.

He's courting me, sure. But we're not a thing! Even before or now, we're not!

Renz smirked and showed us a piece of paper in his hand. Not just a simple paper. It's a piece of a sketchbook! And who loves sketching? Hyunjin!

“What is your problem?!” I reacted almost violently that my friends looked at me in surprise.

Rome snatched the paper. He opened it and stared at the sketches... of me. It's full of drawings of my face with different expressions, from different angles. Few of them are still unfinished.

A crease formed in my forehead as I snap my head towards Renz. He smirked before stepping back. His friends harshly pulled someone and I widened my eyes.

“Don't move, loser. We'll beat you up again if you do.”

“What do you think you're doing?!” I screamed. I stood up and quickly went near him.
