Chapter 16

Well, that was my life five years ago.

“Good pose! Excellent!” The photographer continued on raining me with praises. “Now turn your face a little to the side and give me a sensual look!”

I did what the photographer told me. After a few shots, he called for a break and I mentally thanked the gods for that.

Several assistants immediately walk towards me to retouch my make up and hair quickly. I am modeling a luxurious perfume from a big brand and the concept is obviously mature and sensual. I was doing suggestive poses on this leather couch while wearing a short silk night dress.

“It's so beautiful, (Y/N). I can't wait for them to release your pictures on magazines and billboards!” Heidi exclaimed, clasping both of her hands together.

“Thanks, Heidi.” I smiled at my manager slash personal assistant and friend!

“I think this is really the right path for you. Modelling and advertising, eh?” Reid, the gay photographer came towards me.

“She actually got many offers from environmental companies. They want her to advocate for climate causes.” Heidi proudly said.

“Really? Well, what do you think about that?”

“I'm still thinking of it after we had a meeting. I have a degree in Forestry and planing to study for a Master's in Environmental Science. I think I'm doing it.” I said, not moving too much because my assistants were still retouching my make up.

“Well, that's good! You're fit for the job. In that case, you'll also promote taking care of nature.”

“Yeah.”

All of a sudden, the door of the studio opened and everyone's head snap towards its direction. A bouquet of flowers was in Rome's hands as he make his way towards me with his usual boyish smile on his face.

“Your fiancé is here.” Heidi whispered with a flat expression.

“Hey, I brought you flowers.” Rome leaned in for a kiss. It landed on my cheek because I faced sidewards.

“Thanks. You can put it there. I'm not done here yet.” I gestured towards my vanity table.

“Are you hungry? I bought you your favorite salad.” He said.

I gave him a smile and nod my head. “Yeah. I'll eat it later.”

“By the way, we're going to party later. (Y/N), you're coming with me. It's been weeks since the last time you hang out with us!” Heidi chimed in.

“Partying? No.” Rome said.

“Are you (Y/N)?” Heidi snapped at Rome. “Come on! She needs to go out and have some fun.”

“No. She's tired. My fiancé is not coming with you.”

“Huh? No, she's not yet tired. In fact, she's the one who wanted to go out and have some fun. Right?” Heidi turn to look at me with a hopeful expression.

I looked at her then to Rome with an unsure expression on my face. I gulp and slowly shake my head, feeling bad that I won't be able to make it tonight with Heidi and the girls.

“I'm tired. I actually prefer to go straight home.” I lied.

Heidi’s hopeful face turned into disappointment. She sighed and look at Rome with a bored gaze. “Fine. Next time I'll assure you will be able to come with us.” She crossed her arms and walk away.

Rome traced her direction as she left. The assistants have already finished retouching my make up and hair. They left leaving me and Rome alone.

“How's the business trip, by the way?” I asked, not even looking at him.
