I hear my phone buzz beside me.

I rubbed my eyes and lay back on my bed, staring at the ceiling for a while before finally reaching for my phone to check messages from the group chat.

I didn't even bother to reply. I looked over to my unfinished homework on the floor I threw before going to bed. I zoned out for a moment then muttered, "fuck it."

I looked back to my phone to see more messages.

I yawned and glanced at the moon through the window. My eyes softened and then returned to my lap, where my hand dropped on my side along with the one holding my phone.

GETTING READY FOR SCHOOL

(TIME SKIP)

I splashed my face with water to wake myself up before I dress myself in my usual outfit: a jacket and cargo pants, with headphones around my neck.

I flinched as a door slammed outside my room, followed by a loud yell "MARVIS, GET THE HELL UP AND GET OUT. I DON'T WANNA SEE YOU HERE!"

I muttered  "Of course you don't." I immediately cleaned my room and fixed my hair before grabbing my messenger bag.

After grabbing my messenger bag, I headed downstairs. In the kitchen, I swiftly helped myself to a snack, taking a protein bar from the counter, and grabbed a cold bottle of water from the fridge.

Now headed to the front door, but before I close the door behind me, I glanced back to ensure the house was tidy. Satisfied, I nodded and shut the door.

I headed to school, pressing the cold bottled water against my forehead as I walked along the sidewalk.

AT SCHOOL

I arrived at the main school entrance and quietly grumbled, narrowing my eyes. "Our endless nightmare is already too much to handle-school just makes it worse."

Entering class, I greeted our teacher, Mr. Thomas with a tired, croaky voice. "Good morning, Mr. Thomas-" I cleared my throat, which led to a fit of coughing.

After recovering, I mumbled an apology and flashed an awkward smile before heading to my seat at the back, next to Logan on my left. I noticed Taylor, Tyler, and Logan looking equally exhausted, eye bags clearly visible.

I clenched my jaw, frustration and anger mixing within me. With a heavy sigh, I glanced downwards, fingers tightly gripping the strap of my messenger bag.

As I sat down on my seat, I pulled my hood over my head and I slouched into my seat, wearily closing my eyes.

"This nightmare is really taking its toll," I thought to myself before glancing over at Logan, who seemed equally miserable. I quietly handed him my cold bottled water.

He glanced at me, then down at the bottle on his lap, and spoke gratefully, though still tired. "Thank you, Marvis. This could actually help."

I nodded with a small smile, crossing my arms as I watched him place the cold bottle on his eyes.

Moments later, I hear a door creak open, revealing Ashlyn, Aiden, and Ben as they walk in, looking misrable and exhausted too.

I see the worry of Mr. Thomas's face when he saw our state. The endless nightmare we endure every night is really ruining us. We weren't like this every morning before.

Mr. Thomas speaks up in front of the class as Ashlyn, Aiden, and Ben make their way to their seats, "Everyone, get your homework out please.. "

TIME SKIP
[RRIIINGGGG]

I jolted my head up off my desk and looked at the class clock to see the time. I groaned and hid my hands in my jacket's pockets, feeling annoyed and still tired.

I felt a tap on my shoulder, causing me to flinch and quickly turn my head to see Logan. He withdrew his finger and stood up from his seat, looking concerned and surprised. Softening his gaze, he spoke up, "Hey Marvis.. let's join the others to discuss last night--and are you alri-"

I spoke up quickly before he finished his sentence. "Pfft... Yeah, I'm fine. It's fine, seriously." I scratched my neck awkwardly and nervously, letting out a chuckle. He seemed more worried, but he decided not to press me further. He then gestured to me to follow him behind.

I nodded and I stood up, grabbing my messenger bag from the floor then followed behind Logan while Taylor and Tyler were behind me.

I rubbed my eyes wearily, then glanced down at the floor. Logan stood in front of Aiden, who called out to Ashlyn, "Ashlyn!" She turned her head toward Aiden upon hearing her name. "We're all eating lunch together. Y'know, to talk about 'stuff' ". She responded with a raised eyebrow, "Alright..."
