[𝐒𝟏] 𝐄𝐏 𝟔 - 𝐆𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰

"Are two of my students already late on the first day of school?"

I glanced behind them and saw an older man with glasses. I figured he was our teacher.

"Just kidding! A class rule is if we're both late and you get here before me, you're safe-"

I rolled my eyes and thought while taking off my earphones, putting them in my pocket. "Oh joy.. what a relief."

The teacher paused perfectly as I thought of it. His gaze dropped to the male twin's feet, where he noticed a missing shoe. "Where's your shoe?" he asked, sounding both confused and concerned.

Following the teacher's gaze, I noticed that the male twin was, in fact, has missing a shoe. It turned out to be his shoe that had almost hit me and the braided girl.

The teacher tells him to find it after class then so he responded, nodding and avoiding eye contact "yes sir."

The teacher smiles and spoke up as the twins walked away, going to find their seat "Go ahead and find which desk has your name on it and take a seat."

I noticed that there were two students following behind the teacher. They were the same two I had seen in the office while I was lining up behind them.

I saw the blonde one's face light up as he looked at someone. Following his gaze, I saw the braided girl trying to hide in her desk.

I thought to myself "Weird, what's going on with these two? It's confusing me. Are they friends or not?" I shrugged it off and then turned my focus back to our teacher.

Our teacher spoke up in front, saying, "Sorry I'm late, everyone. These... hold on." He glanced at the two beside him, and they seemed confused as the teacher paused to look at them. He was searching for someone.

I realized he was probably about to announce that they were new students, just like me. I sighed and raised my hand to show that I was one of them. He turned his head to look at the students, searching for me, and then his eyes landed on me. They brightened, and he smiled, gesturing for me to come to the front so he could announce that we were new.

Grumbling under my breath as I stood up from my seat, I muttered, "Do I have to come up front?" I walked to the front, with my hand in my pocket, and then turned to face everyone.

The teacher continued, "Ahem, I shall continue. So, these three are new to the school, so make sure to give them a warm welcome." He then looked at us and added, "You guys can take a seat now as well."

I glanced back at him and nodded, heading back to my seat. As I sat down, I laid my forehead on my desk, rubbing my eyes with both hands, trying not to fall asleep in class.

"Let's begin with introductions, shall we? We'll go in alphabetical order," the teacher happily announced.

Narrowing my eyes in irritation, I groaned, covered my face with my hands, and whispered to myself, "Oh, come on."

I removed my hand from my face and crossed my arms, listening to our teacher.
"When it's your turn, state your first and last name and share something about yourself. As an example, I'll start us off. My name is Thomas Walter, and this is my first time teaching my own class. I look forward to being with you all!"

We start with the letter A. It seems like the long, orange-braided girl is first.

"Ashlyn Banner, I like dogs," she spoke quickly and sat back down, followed by the blonde standing up behind her.

"I'm Aiden Clark. I like bungee jumping, skydiving, rock climbing, racing, water skiing-"

I looked at him in surprise as he continued talking about his interests. I thought to myself, "Dang... no way he was able to do all of that? He's probably reckless or just.. brave."

Next was the guy with him, Ben Clark, who was asleep. Aiden chimed in, "He's Ben Clark! We're cousins." He smiled, then sat back down.

It finally became clear to me, "Hm, they're cousins. I thought they were siblings at first." I thought.

I didn't pay much attention to most of the students, only to those who seem interesting to me. After many students, my seatmate stood up and spoke, "Hello, I-the-uh.. Logan Fields. I mean I'm Logan.. I um, I enjoy astrology.."

I glanced at him, then back down to my desk and thought to myself, "Logan Fields, the puppy Ashlyn helped pick up his dropped paper earlier. He seems nice, and astrology sounds interesting to me. I think I'll try to be friends with him."

After two more students, it was my turn. I stood up, introducing myself, "I'm Marvis Garcia, I like dancing and stars." I sat back down and noticed Logan glancing at me, then looking away. I glanced at him, confused, then back in front of me.

I had not expected there would be so many of us in one class. Then again, after many more students, it was the twins' turn.

The first to speak was the female twin, introducing herself with a smile, "I'm Taylor Hernández! I'm in the mechanics club. Come say hi if you get the chance."

Next was her brother, quite the opposite. He introduced himself while looking away, "I'm Tyler Hernandez, yes, we're twins. I'm in the baseball club."

Looking at Tyler, I thought to myself, "I love how their names rhyme."

After a while, everyone finished introducing themselves. Teacher Thomas clapped twice to get everyone's attention and then spoke up, "Alright, now that introductions are done, let's talk about the group project for this semester!"
