CHAPTER FIVE
All Of This Is Gonna End

It had been a few days since Leia's birthday and the kiss. The group did find out after Gwen interrogated them like crazy. Penny and Leia didn't exactly know how to label their relationship, but they were not just friends. The rain was pouring like crazy and the thunder was roaring. And of course, the dumbasses were in the basement.

"I'm sorry you have to see this disgusting hickey I got from Penny." Leia said.

Penny furrowed her brows. "I didn't— we..." Penny knew damn well she didn't leave a hickey.

"Leia, there's literally nothing there." Nikki said.

"No, no, no. Get up close. It's... it's so gross."

Nikki looked at Penny with raised eyebrows, Penny shook her head.

"She wants a big song and dance, but we are not giving it to her." Ozzie said, looking up from the magazine.

"I'm still getting used to you and Penny being an official thing. It's like when I found out that dogs got periods. I was like, 'huh?'." Gwen mused.

"The fact that you even think you have a hickey means that Penny's mouth was on your neck. So stuff's happening?"

    "I'm right here." Penny reminded.

"Stuff's happening. I got this big guy last night while we were cuddled up on a beanbag under a blanket." Leia explained.

"Oh, I see. So, did you touch it?"

    "Touch what?"

"You don't ask that if you touched it."

"Oh, it? Why would you even say that?" Leia playfully swatted Nikki.

"Nope." Penny responded to Nikki when she looked at her.

"I don't know. Blanket plus bean bag usually equals touching it."

"It's simple sex math." Ozzie explained.

"I didn't know, um, things mean other things. But it's a little different for us, right?" Leia asked.

"Yeah, there's no dick. It's great." Penny answered.

    "Everything means something, Leia."

"Don't start this with her. Leia, there are no rules to any of this. Don't let them get in your head." Gwen told Leia.

"Yeah, and besides, I don't care." Penny told Leia, letting her know they didn't have to jump right into it.

"Thank you, Gwen, and Penny. Just to be clear, I'm not gonna touch it. Penny, are you thinking I'm gonna touch it?!" Leia asked.

"Touch what?" Jay asked, walking in.

    Penny laughed awkwardly.

"The sky! With our... dreams." Leia lied.

Nate was trying to get the opened umbrella through the door, "this is why I hate rain."

    "Dude..." Penny started.

    "Just close it."

Nate laughed, throwing the umbrella outside, then he closed the door. "Good call, babe."

"She meant the umbrella, dumbass." Penny told him.

    —

Penny went to the store to get a pack of cigarettes, and after a few hours, she came back to the house. Those few hours were made up of her trying to get the old guy at the cash to pass her the cigarettes, which took nearly 20 minutes, then she had to wait for the downpour to stop, then she was hungry so she went to The Hub, had to wait for the rain again, and now she was finally back.

Leia looked at her as she walked in through the basement door. "I'm sorry that I brought everything up in front of you. I shouldn't have. It's just... it's really confusing as it is, and I mean, I didn't even know I liked girls up until I met you and I don't know how or what to do."

"It's okay, Leia. If it makes you feel any better, I don't really know what I'm doing either." Penny admitted.

"What I do know is that I really like you and I want to be with you." Leia told her.

"Then that makes two of us."

Leia smiled, leaning in to kiss Penny.

"Hey, Pen, look what I got!" Jay said.

Penny instinctively went to look at Jay but Leia accidentally kissed Penny's ear. "You kissed my ear."

"Then don't turn!" Leia told her.

Now they were all stoned and laughing. "Hey, it stopped raining." Nikki said as she had the umbrella opened up inside.

The group grinned and ran outside, still high.

A few minutes later, they were un-stoned and were sitting on lawn chairs. "Do you guys remember coming out here?" Ozzie asked.

"No. But I'm glad we did. It ended up being a pretty solid day."

"I hope this never ends." Leia smiled.

Sherri came running over with papers in hands. "Kids, your school schedules came! Summer is finally over. All this is gonna end." Sherri exclaimed.

Penny and Leia looked at each other with slight worry.
