Fossil 10: Awakening of an Unexpected Ally

Shock covered Elysia's face as she watched this titan. Beside her, Jean shared the same expression, unsure how to process this new turn of events. 'That's...that's a titan, but why is it...?' she wondered, seeing the titan get into a stance.

*Shatter*

Before she could ponder more on it, the window beside her shattered, making her look in its direction. But when she did, her eyes widened. "W-Wei? Rhea?" she called, seeing her friends safe and sound with Mikasa, Connie and Armin.

"Sheesh, it just ran out," Connie realised, looking at his canister. "Yeah, but we made it," said Wei before smiling at Rhea and Armin. "Your plan worked," he added, making the two nod and smile.

"Y-you guys are still alive?" wondered Jean, approaching them as Mikasa stood up. "We thought that you all..." lingered another cadet, making the group that had just arrived nod. Before Wei could say anything, he felt Elysia hug him and Rhea.

"...I'm glad you're alive," she said, making the siblings look at her. They could see her body trembling slightly. "I...I didn't want to be alone without you two," she repeated, making Wei smile. "Don't worry. We won't be going anywhere," he said, making Rhea nod.

"But we need to focus on getting to safety," she said before turning toward the other cadets. "This titan is Abnormal and only seems to attack other titans," she revealed, which shocked them.

"Yeah, it doesn't even care about us!" added Connie before pointing at the titan. "So, If we can make good use of it, we will be able to get out of here," he said. Hearing this, the cadets were flabbergasted as they exchanged looks.

"You think we will be saved by a titan?" Jean asked, voicing the question that was going through their minds. "Something like that seems too delusional-" "It's not delusional," interrupted Mikasa, shifting his attention to her.

"All we need is for the titan to continue its rampage, but this is our best plan to escape," she said, making them silent. Then, Jean felt a hand on his shoulder, making him glance at Wei. "And honestly speaking..." he paused, looking through the hole.

*ROAR*

They heard the rogue titan let out a roar before it punched another titan. "If it wasn't for this titan, we might not have made it back," he admitted, which shocked Jean. He then looked at the rest of the group, seeing them nod.

"Okay...we will use this titan," Jean decided as more cadets nodded, agreeing to the idea. "But what do we do in the meantime?" another cadet asked, making Rhea and Armin exchange looks. The two seemed to be thinking of a plan before they nodded.

"We need to take control of the gas supply room," said Rhea, making Armin nod. "But for that, we will need to get rid of the titans that invaded the building," he added, making the cadets exchange more looks. "But we don't have gas. How will we get rid of them?" one cadet asked.

"What if we lure them in?" came Edward's voice, making the cadets look toward him. They saw him leaning tiredly against Tommy as he looked at Armin and Rhea. "Maybe we can find something to help with that," he added, making Armin hum.
