Chapter 12 - Shut up cat!!

(You're POV, 3 months later)

"I already can't waittt for that ice pop when we get back, it is so hot out." I complained to the group on the way to our next job. Gray chuckles. Natsu, Happy, Ezra, Gray, and I are headed to find a lost treasure, although we aren't exactly sure what it is or its exact location. The job request said it may be guarded, wherever it is, but didn't give much detail beyond the town it's in, which is a few hours away from Magnolia. It is believed to hold some sort of magic power, so we are hoping that we, or at the very least Natsu, can sense it.

"We're almost there. Everyone pay close attention to their surroundings. The more we stay focused the faster we'll find whatever it is we're looking for." Erza stated. Everyone nodded in return. We traveled towards the center of the town for a bit before Natsu stopped in his tracks.

"Does anyone else feel that?" He asked. We all stopped behind him.

"Now that you mention it, I do. But it's odd, it doesn't feel like any normal magic power." Ezra realized.

"What could it be?" I asked as we head in the direction of source of hidden magic.

Before anyone got the chance to respond Natsu yelled, "Everyone get down!" Immediately after, he fell to the ground, and we all followed as fast as possible, curling into balls to cover our heads. Right as my knees hit the concrete there was an explosion. Debris from a house flew over me as my ears rang. Moments go by before I feel a cold hand through my shredding clothes. I still don't move, but the contact makes me feel safe. He slowly crawls closer toward me until his arm his wrapped all the way around my back and he pulls me toward him. We sit there for much longer than expected until it calmed down.

we all slowly stood and brushed ourselves off. I adjusted my clothes to cover areas that have been ripped or torn away by the debris.

"Is everyone alright?" Ezra asks. We all shake our heads as Gray looks over at me to confirm we are both okay.

"What was that??" I asked, surprised.

"I don't know, we need to investigate." Erza says before turning and running in the direction the explosion came from. We all quickly follow. Only moments later we find 3 young women that seems to be about our age standing right in front of the destroyed building.

"Hey!! Do you guys feel that?? I think they have what we are looking for!" Natsu exclaimed. He and Gray made eye contact and immediately their jaws dropped.

"Huh? What's wrong?" I asked curiously.

"we can't fight chicks!! That's like against the rules or something!!" Gray yelled.

"Such babies!" Erza and I laughed. "Don't cry. We'll handle this!" I joked as me and Erza ran in the girls direction. Gray, Natsu, and Happy stand back as we quickly approach them.

"Requip!" Erza yells as she gets into battle gear.

"Earth-make, dirt shots!" I've never been the best at coming up with names for my attacks, but I go with it anyways. Dirt fires from the ground shot after shot at the 3 girls as Erza charges at them with a sword. One girl deflects all of the dirt while another smacks Erza to the ground, and the third stands watching, hands on her hips with a smirk. As Erza stands the other girls join the third in her stance.

''Do you have a good reason for this random attack or are you just jerks messing with the wrong girls?" One asks.

"you have something important we are looking for and we won't give it up without a fight," Erza explains. "And you must be the ones who has destroyed this house. Do you have a good reason for that?" Erza inquires.
