The past few days had been a whirlwind of emotions. After my conversation with Robert, I had felt a sense of closure, or at least, I thought I did. But Robert's sudden appearance at the restaurant today turned my world upside down once more.

It was a busy Thursday afternoon, and I was in the middle of helping Sky with a particularly large lunch rush when Robert walked in. My heart skipped a beat as I saw him, looking as handsome as ever in his tailored suit. He spotted me immediately and made his way through the bustling tables, his eyes never leaving mine.

"Hey," he said softly when he reached me, his voice barely audible over the noise of the restaurant.

"Robert," I replied, trying to keep my composure. "What are you doing here?"

He glanced around, his expression serious.

"I need to talk to you. It's important."

I nodded, leading him to a quieter corner of the restaurant. We sat down, and I could feel the weight of his gaze on me, making my heart race.

“I like your restaurant it's feel like you.” He glanced around taking in every detail.

“Thanks”

After that silent still between us, he looks nervous.

“So, Robert tell me what that important thing that you when to speak with me about.” I blow when I couldn't take the silent anymore.

He takes a deep breath meeting my eyes.

"Elena, I can't stop thinking about you," he began, his voice low and intense. "Ever since that night we talked, I've been torn apart. I know I said we couldn't be together, but I can't deny how I feel about you."

I swallowed hard, my mind spinning and my heart beat wild.

“Robert, we can't keep doing this. You told me yourself that you made a commitment to Emma. I can't be the other woman in your life." My voice full of angrily about what he's doing to me and my feeling.

He reached across the table, taking my hand in his.

"I know it's complicated, but I can't just let you go. I love you, Elena. I've loved you for so long, and I can't pretend otherwise. You know what we shared is more than a sexual desire. Please, let's find a way to be together, even if it's in secret."

His words hit me like a punch to the gut. I had just started to find some semblance of peace, and now he was asking me to step back into the chaos. My mind was a whirlwind of conflicting emotions.

"Robert, this isn't fair to any of us," I said, my voice shaking. "Not to Emma, not to you, and definitely not to me. I deserve more than to be someone's secret. Not alone his mistress.” I signed in disbelief.

He squeezed my hand tighter, his eyes pleading.

“I know you do. But I can't imagine my life without you. Please, just think about it."

I pulled my hand away, standing up.

"I need time to process this, Robert. You can't just come in here and expect me to throw myself in you, and be my sister husband mistress. Please, just go."

He looked at me, his eyes filled with regret and longing. "I'm sorry, Elena. I never meant to hurt you, but I can't breathe without you. I'll give you all the time you need, in hope you may accept me.”

“Just leave Robert.” I whined.

As he left the restaurant, I felt a mix of relief and confusion wash over me. I had been so sure that I was ready to move on, but now everything felt uncertain again. I went back to helping Sky, trying to focus on work and push the turmoil in my mind to the back.

Later that evening, after the restaurant had closed and I was alone, I sat down in the quiet dining room, replaying Robert's words over and over in my head. I had always known our relationship was complicated, but now it felt impossible.

I pulled out my phone, staring at the screen as I debated what to do next. I wanted to call Sky, to talk through everything with her, but I also didn't want to burden her with my problems. Instead, I found myself texting Robert.

"We need to talk more. I need to understand why you think this can work or worth you want it as your mistress. I'm that low in your eyes.” I hit send.

His reply came almost immediately.

“Elena your my oxygen. I die before look low at you. I'll meet you anywhere, anytime. Just tell me when, and I can explain for you more.”

I sighed, feeling the weight of the decision ahead of me. I knew I couldn't keep running from my feelings, but I also couldn't keep living in this state of confusion. It was time to face things head-on, no matter how difficult it might be.

The next day, I met Robert at a quiet café on the outskirts of town. We sat across from each other, the tension between us palpable.

"Why, Robert?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. "Why are you doing this?"

He looked at me, his expression earnest. "Because I love you, Elena. I've loved you since the first time we met. I tried to bury those feelings, to focus on my life with Emma, but I can't ignore them anymore when you asked for one night with me.”

I shook my head, feeling a tear slip down my cheek. "But what about Emma? What about your marriage?"

He sighed, looking down at his hands. "I don't know, Elena. I don't have all the answers. All I know is that I can't let you go. Please, give us a chance, even if it's just in secret."

His words tore at my heart. I wanted to believe him, to believe that we could find a way to make this work, but deep down, I knew it wasn't right.

"I need time to think, Robert," I said, my voice trembling. "I can't make any decisions right now."

He nodded, his eyes filled with understanding and sadness.
"Take all the time you need, Elena. I'll be here, waiting."
I swallowed hard at his new promise.
"I can't trust you."
"I know." He mumbled.

As I left the café, I felt a storm of emotions swirling inside me. I had so much to consider, so much to sort through. I needed to find a way to navigate this mess without losing myself in the process.

That evening, when I enter the restaurant Sky come over to me. She could see the turmoil in my eyes, and she sat down with me, ready to listen.

"What's going on, Elena ?" she asked, her voice full of concern.

I took a deep breath, feeling the tears welling up again.
"Robert came yesterday to ask me to be with him. He said he loves me and wants to be with me, even if it's in secret. I don't know what to do, Sky. I'm so confused. I'm meet him today to try and understand his thoughts but that doesn't help.”

Sky reached out, taking my hand in hers.

“You need to do what's right for you, Elena. You can't let Robert's feelings dictate your life. You deserve to be happy, truly happy, without any secrets or complications. It's sin to be with him, not alone like his mistress.”

I nodded, knowing she was right.
"I know. I just need to figure out how to move forward. I can't keep living in this state of confusion."

Sky squeezed my hand, her eyes full of support. "You'll find your way, Elena. Just take it one step at a time."

As I left the restaurant that night, I felt a renewed sense of determination. I needed to find a way to navigate this mess, to find my own path forward. It wouldn't be easy, but with Sky's support and my own inner strength, I knew I could do it.
