CAMERON SIGHED SOFTLY as she placed on the ground one of Tony's old helmets she had found in the compound. It was late at night and since they had been working the whole day they were all asleep to restore some energy since the next day they would have gone back in the past to take all the Infinity Stones. Cameron, though, couldn't sleep.

She had been given what used to be Wanda's room. They had left everything just like it was in the past years and it wasn't that the room or the bed were uncomfortable, she just had too much on her mind. That's why she was now in one of the meeting rooms of the compound.

There was watching an hologram in front of her. It was an inverted mobius strip, basically what was at the base of their theory for time travel. She had been studying every single step they were going to take, to make sure this was actually going to work. But she couldn't help the strange feeling inside her that told her that something was going to go wrong. She just really hoped she was wrong.

Suddenly she heard footsteps getting closer and she immediately moved to hide the helmet from one of Tony's old suits that she had taken. She hid it under the table, behind a chair, making sure that it wasn't visible.

The footsteps got closer and closer until someone entered the room. Cameron slowly turned around and a small smile formed on her lips once she saw who it was.

"Couldn't sleep?", Tony asked her as he leaned on the doorway.

"Not really, but it's not like I've ever had a great sleep in my life", she replied with a small smile. Honestly, the only time she remembered actually sleeping well, without any nightmares, was when she was with Bucky in Amsterdam, but it was better if she didn't say that.

"Yeah, me neither", Tony replied with a small chuckle as he slowly moved to take the free seat beside her. When he saw the hologram in front of her he spoke up again. "You studying?"

"Just making sure we got it all right", she replied, but she noticed his kinda shocked expression. "What?"

"Just surprised that you could understand what an inverted mobius strip was", he replied with a small smile.

"I'm still a Stark", Cameron replied with a smirk and he softly chuckled at that.

A small silence filled the room and Tony slowly moved to look at his daughter. She wasn't facing him so he could actually take a good look at her. She seemed tired, but still kept a strong look on her face. She always did. With a sigh he finally decided to speak up.

"Cameron, look I know it's probably too late now, but I have to do this. I'm sorry, for everything. I'm sorry for everything that happened in Siberia and I'm sorry for not searching for you in the past five years. I know you'll probably never forgive me and you have every right-", Tony began to rumble but she cut him off.

"Dad, stop, it's okay. You're not even the one that should apologise. I should have told you about what Bucky did, and I should have been there for you in the past years", she told him with a sympathetic smile.

"But you were, weren't you? You know, I talked with Morgan. That bracelet you gave her is now her favourite thing, she's never taking it off", he told her with a smile and Cameron chuckled at this.

"She's a smart kid, she looks a lot like you", she told him softly.

"She looks a lot like you, too", Tony told her with a smile.

As a small comfortable silence grew between them Tony's gaze moved to something that was around Cameron's neck and that fell on her t-shirt. It was a pair of dog tags and as he looked at them he saw the name written on them. James Buchanan Barnes. Cameron felt her father's gaze on her and slowly followed his look to see him looking at Bucky's dog tags around her neck.

"For what you did before, taking me to him. Thank you. You have no idea how much I needed that", she slowly told him, meeting his eyes again.

"You really love him, don't you?", he slowly asked her.

"I think I always will. You know, he was there for me in my worst moments. He probably knows me better than anyone ever will and loosing him was like loosing a part of myself", Cameron explained with a faint smile. Tony slowly sighed as he looked at her. In that moment he promised himself that after all of this was over he would have been there for her, he couldn't have been away from her again.

"We'll get him back. We'll get everyone back. I promise you", he told her with a smile.

"Yeah, whatever it takes, right?", she said with a small smile that he shared as he slowly nodded in response.

"It's getting late, we should try to at least get some rest", he said as he slowly stood up.

"Yeah, I'll go in a minute", she replied and he nodded as he slowly began to walk away. As he was about to leave, though, she stopped him.

"Dad?", she called him standing up and he turned around. He didn't even have time to reply as she suddenly rushed to him and wrapped her arms around his neck tightly. Tony was a bit shocked at first, but soon he relaxed in the hug and hugged her back just as tight.

"I love you 3000, dad", she slowly told him as she had her head on his chest. Tony felt his heart melt at her words. It had been way too long since she last said those words to him and just then he realised how much he had missed it.

"I love you 3000, too", he said with a big smile as he buried his head in the crook of her neck.
