<Rachel's POV>
I began to set out a few bags of chips, and other tasty snacks that me and the girls could eat tonight. I couldn't wait to see Ingrid, Beth, Alisha, Eva, and even Sarai!
Yes, I mean Sarai as in KrazyRayRay on YouTube.
She was yet another one of my friends from school, but she had a headache today, so she decided not to come to school. But she had texted me, assuring me she wouldn't miss tonight for the world.
Would Sarai like Beth?
They seem like they could easily become friends. Sarai is sweet and outgoing, and sometimes a little crazy, but that's why I love her.
Wait a second. Would Beth like me?
Sure, I can be a jerk. But only to one certain person because she is always getting on my nerves! She absolutely hates me, and hardly anyone hates me.
But I guess I deserve it.
Because I ditched her in middle school.
*flashback*
"Hey Shelby!" I say, smiling at my favorite blonde.
"Hey, what's up Rach?" She asks, smiling.
"Not much!" I replied. "But, I don't mean to be rude or anything, but why aren't you wearing pink today?" Every year since the first grade, we've worn pink on the first day of school. It was just a tradition! Today was the first day of 8th grade, and instead of our usual pink shirt, she went with a black tank top. I was a bit offended.
"Well I decided that I don't want to do the tradition anymore, ya'know? I don't even have anything pink in my closet anymore." She says, and my jaw drops.
"Really?" I ask, trying not to let the hurt soak through my voice. I didn't understand why she would just ditch a tradition like this. "What's the real reason behind why you didn't wear pink?"
"You really want to know?" Shelby asks me, looking concerned.
"Yes."
"Well, It's because I don't want to be part of your group anymore. Ever since I've been friends with you, Eva, and Ingrid, it's only been us three against everyone else. I think it's time I made new friends." Shelby says.
"So are we even friends anymore?" I ask, dazed and confused.
She looks me square in the eye and says: "Rachel, I was never your friend."
I stood there shocked and hurt as she spun on her heel and left.
Shelby had taken 9 years of memories since kindergarten and trashed them like they had meant nothing to her. Our first crushes, our secrets, our mall trips, our first boyfriends. We'd shared so much together. And they meant nothing to her. But the thing is, they had meant everything to me.
When I told Eva and Ingrid the news, they weren't sad, they were angry. We had been four peas in a pod since day uno. But she says it never meant anything?
Before I even know what's going on, they start helping me plan my revenge.
The next week in the cafeteria, I take Shelby's milk, and dump it all down the front of her.
"Friends don't treat each other like crap!" I say, looking Shelby dead in the eye. "So it's a good thing we are not friends anymore!" I say.
