Cressida Xavier has always longed for excellence. Knowing great duty, hardship and the burden of responsibility from a very tender age, the young telepath will stop at nothing to use her mutation to make her father proud. So it's only natural that she leaps at the chance to work with some of Earth's mightiest heroes, the Avengers. Hoping to put her mutation to the best purpose, she leaves the X-Men and joins the superheroes on their mission to protect Earth.
Yet the telepath quickly gets a reality check when she is paired up with Thor, a complete and polar opposite to her quiet determination, and she begins to struggle with the intensity of different personalities and such strong minds. Perhaps being an Avenger is not all what it's cracked up to be when she's forced to endure the thoughts, memories and recollections of so many tortured superheroes.
Then she meets Loki.
Still regarded with suspicion by those around him, Loki lives in the shadows of the Avengers Compound. Drawn like a moth to a flame, Cressida is pulled into his world of magic, tricks and deceit as she tries to understand the turmoil in his mind.
