Thalia, Luke, Grover, and I were hanging upside down with rope tied to our feet. Somehow we had all gotten split up; only to be reunited over a pot that had liquid, which I would assume was water boiling. The liquid had a gut wrenching stench that could only be described as foul. Not to mention there were a suspicious amount of flesh circulating around in the pot.
Right now, we had no plan. It was hard to have one when the monster that captured us was a cyclops. That's right fellas! we got tricked by a fucking cyclops. He used Annabeth's voice to lead me to one of his stupid traps. I was idiotic enough to not look where I was going, leading me to walk right into his disgusting grimy hands. Speaking of Annabeth, where was she? last time I saw her was before we split up to clear the mansion. I tried to rotate my body to face the others, which was hard to do considering I was suspended in the air, but I was able to do it with enough effort.
"Guys, where's Annabeth?" I whispered, I didn't want the cyclops knowing that one of us wasn't captured yet.
Luke and Grover tried to turn around to face me. Just now realizing that she wasn't hanging to our deaths with us. Thalia was busy arguing with the cyclops, demanding him to let us go.
"I-I don't know where she could've gone, hopefully she's noticed we've been gone for a while." Grover whispered back, he was nervously chewing his shirt in distress.
"I'm not sure either, but sh-" Started Luke, until his eyes widened, looking off to the side in front of us.
I followed Luke's eyes, trying to see what made him stop talking. I saw a flash of blond curls behind a wooden crate. I narrowed my eyes trying to see what it was, until I made eye contact with stormy grey eyes. She looked at us and was trying to tell us something, but I wasn't able to make out what she was trying to say. I tried to mouth the words get out to her, but she wouldn't budge.
I alerted Thalia that Annabeth was here by looking at her in the eyes. She got the message as her eyes followed to where I was trying to discreetly point to where Annie was. Thalia and Annabeth seemed to have a non verbal discussion with their eyes and small hand movements, before both of them nodded in agreement. Thalia then turned to us, trying to quickly and quietly tell the plan. I nodded and proceeded with my part of the plan.
"Hey you one eyed freak! yeah you, you fugly looking fatso!" I yelled mockingly at the cyclops. If there was one thing I could do well, it was definitely being an annoying bitch.
"Who dares call me such names!" bellowed the cyclops. His one brown eye shot to me, giving me an enraged look.
"I do! daughter of no one and nobody!" I shouted and smirked, deciding to use my own twist of the old tale. Annabeth had told me the tale of odysseus one night, after I had curiously asked her about Greek heroes. She was more than happy to tell me all about them. I honestly don't remember much (don't tell her I said that), but I loved to see her happy.
The cyclops stomped towards me and stopped in front of the pot. He decided to untie my rope and dangle me between his pointer finger and thumb, but not without my struggle and very inappropriate insults flying out from my mouth. From my new vantage point I was able to spot Annabeth, who was crouching and slowly making her way to the cyclops from behind. I decided to buy her some more time for whatever she was going to do.
"Maybe I will eat you first demigod, since you are so bent on insulting me. You're so puny and minuscule I could just crush you with my fingers alone." The cyclops grinned while mocking me. My eye twitched at the comment, I did not like to be called short and puny. I was about to insult his ugly face before I saw that Annie was close enough. So naturally, I decided to spit in the cyclops's eye.
