𝗜𝗦 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗔𝗡 𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬?
The simple answer to this is kind of. I am a huge nerd when it comes to multiverse theories and speculation, which is why I love The Flash series. If you've never seen the show, basically in The Flash there are alternate timelines and/or dimensions with different version and outcomes for each character. For example, Barry Allen (aka - The Flash) is a hero in one universe, but is a burnt out college student nobody in the next. That's the vibe I wanted to bring to this story. The narrator - which is one version of Y/n - is from the future and is telling us the story of the past Y/n. But they are telling of this to a completely alternate version of Y/n from a completely different world then My Hero Academia - which I guess we can refer as the you right now, reading this chapter. I know it's a lot put together, but trust me it all makes sense when you really think about it.
𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗜𝗦 𝗬/𝗡'𝗦 𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗥𝗞?
In chapter 0.1, we see Y/n fall and turn into a ghost. You might thinking - "Why didn't this dumbass just use their quirk?" - Well, that's because her quirk wouldn't help her in this scenario. Me personally, I've always hated whenever I read other My Hero stories and they always give Y/n or their oc's such overpowered, world shattering quirks. I feel like it takes away from them having any sort of relatability in the story if they are just always easily defeating every obstacle that comes their way. Y/n's quirk is called Focus Sense. This ability allows the user to enhance their perception and "focus in" on their surroundings in order to gather information. The user can tune into specific sounds, sights, or even smells within a certain radius. This allows them to pick up conversations, see hidden objects, or detect unusual scents that others might miss. Additionally, while in the heightened state, anything the user perceives is stored within their memory. This includes visual details, sounds, and smells. They can recall this information with perfect clarity later. However, if the user gets overwhelmed with the amount of information they are storing, all of it can be lost and the affect ends. This ability is useful in many ways, but it is by no means a combat quirk, meaning the user has trouble defending themselves.
𝗪𝗛𝗬 𝗗𝗜𝗗 𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗬𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗧 𝗬/𝗡 𝗔𝗙𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗬 '𝗗𝗜𝗘𝗗'?
At this point in the story, telling you that would not give the dramatic reveal I'm hoping to have later, but WHAT I CAN SAY is that it has something to do with the mysterious, unnamed character Y/n saw before they were ghostified. I feel like that much was obvious, though. ;)
𝗪𝗛𝗬 𝗗𝗜𝗗 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗠𝗢𝗠𝗢, 𝗝𝗜𝗥𝗢𝗨, 𝗞𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗥𝗜 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗢 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗔𝗜𝗡 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗦 𝟭-𝗔 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗦?
Personally, I never EVER like the stories where it's all about Midoriya, Bakugo or Shoto. Like, they are icons for sure, but the get enough screen time in the anime - give some others a chance once in a while. (Also, some of the writing I see of them makes me uncomfortable in SO many ways, but that's a different issue). My favorite Class 1-A student is Shoji, but I really wanted to think outside the box and create something we don't really see in the anime, so I chose these 4. Now, MomoJirou and Kaminari and Sero are duos in their own right, but them as a SQUAD? Have not seen it, and they are so iconic in their friendships so I thought why not?
𝗪𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗕𝗘 𝗦𝗠𝗨𝗧/ 𝗡𝗦𝗙𝗪 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗧?
No. There's a reason I made the reader a ghost.
𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗣𝗜𝗥𝗘𝗗 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗧𝗢 𝗪𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬?
Honestly, I don't see a lot of x reader stories that are platonic in nature. Of course, I love a good romance, but reading about myself DATING a fictional character makes me feel kind of weird, so I wanted to make a story for all those people out there who just wanna hang out with the characters of their favorite shows. Also, I have been trying to make this story as gender neutral as possible. There are times where Y/n might seem more female, but that is only because I am a girl and whenever I can't think of anything to write, I relate it back to myself/ my life.
