You and Katniss walked back to her house together so she could prepare for the Victory Tour. When you arrived her fancy Capitol prep team was already there.
"Oh Katniss!" a tall lady with pale pink hair said, "It's so good to see you darling!"
You were just about to fade into the shadows when Katniss addressed you, "Effie, meet (Y/N)."
Effie walked up to you and gripped your face in her hands, "it's wonderful to meet you beautiful," she said with an infectious smile before wrapping you in a hug.
You must have looked uncomfortable because Katniss chuckled as she locked eyes with you. "And Cinna," she said, gesturing to the more modestly dressed man, "he's my stylist and good friend."
Cinna shook your hand with a smile, "a pleasure."
You nodded in return. "I'll leave you to it, Katniss," you said, "I'll go check and see if your mom needs any help in the kitchen."
You listened as Katniss was prepped for the cameras and walked out the door to say her hello to the crowds and officially start her victory tour with Peeta. When the cameras were finally done, you and Prim walked outside to say goodbye.
Katniss hugged you, a rare show of affection from either of you. You squeezed her tightly, "it's only a few weeks," you whispered.
She nodded, "see you in a few weeks." you smiled and watched her walk towards the train station with Peeta and Haymitch trailed by the rest of her entourage. Prim clung to your side as she watched Katniss walk away.
"She'll be back soon," you said, wrapping an arm around her shoulder.
"I know," Prim whispered, "but last time she left she was fighting to the death."
You guided her shoulders back into the house. You didn't have the heart to tell Prim that Katniss was still fighting to the death - just in a different way.
