10. All too familiar feelings

(So this chapter is actually just and add in and is not part of the movie to those of you who haven't watched it. Btw in my version Casey refers to Heidi as mom after cassandra dies because she kind of took on that mother figure.)

Memory.

It's a funny thing.

An old memory had popped into Casey's head.

He remembered standing at the doorway as he heard crying and mourning over a red clad turtle.

His Uncle Raph had just... gone for good.

It was all too familiar to the little Casey Jones. the grief. the crying. the loss.

It was all the same when his mom died.

Leo just stood, eyes wide, shaking his head in denial as he stared at the red bandana in his hands, tears slowly streaking across the red pattern on his eyes.

Raph was gone. He couldn't save him. Just like he couldn't save Cassandra.

Mikey cried in anger, refusing to accept his brothers death to be true and trying to do soemthing with his mystic powers to help.

Donnie sat at his desk, muttering and bargaining that there could be other ways. that Raph could still be alive.

April shook her head, tears rolling down her cheeks as she burried her face in her hands.

Each and every one of them going through the five stages of grief.

Heidi, tears stained her face as she came and picked up Casey. She held him close. She knew Raph was gone, And she knew he did what he felt had to be done.

Casey, looked around at the room and back at Heidi's face. She was attempting to smile but when her lipps trembled and faltered she pulled them right back upward to hide the mourning she was going through.

For him. For Leo. For everyone.

She wouldn't let herself show how truly sad she was, for she had lost a brother.

the 10 year old tugged on her clothes and whispered. "It's okay mom, you don't have to hide. We're all going to miss Uncle Raph."

The wise boys words were enough to almost completely shatter the woman as she started to cry now. "I know. I'll be okay. Alright, Case?"

Casey nodded and walked over to Leo, tugging on his pants and nodding at Leo to go to his wife.

Leo nodded, patting the boys head and walking over to his wife, embracing her and soothing her.

Casey remembered looking back around at the room, Uncle Mikey, Uncle 'Tello, Aunty April.

Casey almost left the room but his parental figures motioned him over. he wasted no time and the tears he held back now left his eyes as he ran and hugged the couple.

The three stood there hugging as if they were a true family, which they sort of were.

Now here stood a grown up Casey. Wise and strong and able to change the outcome of the future. Able to stop the grief that spread worldwide. Able to stop the loss due to the krang.

And that was what he would do.

He looked over at Leo, who stood next to Heidi, talking to her as she sheathed two daggers into the side of her belt attachments and a wakizashi on her back.

He looked at the two, wondering if they were together at this time and decided to approach them with the question.

"Are you two dating yet?" He asks the two and they stop their conversation to look at him, their cheeks both starting to flush.

"I- um.. no. no, not yet." Leo answered, his eyes constantly darting toward Heidi. "Why?" Leo asked, now slightly curious as he stood cloder to Heidi, grabbing her shoulders.

"Sorry, did you say 'not yet' ?" Heidi asked Casey. "And did you say it too? she turned to Leo.

Casey chuckled and walked toward the turtle tank, leaving the two to wander in their thoughts as their faces continued to heat up.

"W-what do you mean by that? Casey?!" leo asked after the boy.

"so.." Heidi started. "are we just going to leave that at that or... what?"

Leo turned to the girl, still blushing madly. "We'll talk about that later. I hope. Let's get this Krang situation over with."

Heidi nodded and followed her cr- I mean best friend. Her best friend.

Possibly with benifits.

Maybe.

Hey guys. so that may or may not have been a little sneak peak of another fanfiction in the making, I will not confirm or deny but you all probably know.

So just so you know, It could be a *sprequel to this book.

(Sprequel being a word (I think) I made up combining 'prequel' with 'sequel')

I might give you an update and I might not.

anyways, hope this chapter was okay, also I kind of just chose a random age for Casey around the time I thought raph might have died.

I also just realized it's my little brothers age. what a coincidence ig.

anywhizzle, to all my canadians out there, Happy Canada Day!

Just found out two days ago that canada day is my late dog's death date for when she got hit by a car 14 years ago.
