Chapter 2

"Wanna hang out later?"

"Sure!"

"Wait for me!"

Riki sighed,staring at the scenery through the classroom's window. All classmates already leave the classroom,leaving him and his best friend.

She looks at him,raises her right eyebrow. "Hurry up,Riki. Don't you want to go home?"she asks and zipz up her bag.

Yet,Riki doesn't answer her.

"What exactly are those two girls yesterday... I'm sure they aren't normal.." he thought, tapping his fingers on the table.

Sumi sighed. She put both of her arms on her hip and pounted. "Riki, don't ignore me... Is there anything bothering your mind..?" she asks with a firm tone.

"O-oh..Sumi.." he  quickly fix his posture. "What's the matter?"

"Really? You ask that after acting like a mother duck that loses her children...?" She asks in disbelief, massaging her forehead. "You seem troubled."

"Uhm..." His magenta eyes trail away. "It's...nothing. Just....worried about the upcoming CrossFire contest,that's all..." He said, sweating.

"I hope she believes that..."

Sumi stared at him,then her eyes widened. "Ah...Crossfire contest! It's next month,right?"she asked,changing the topic. "I get it that you are nervous...But don't worry,you are already the champion right?" She smiled.

"Thank god,she believes it!"he thought and forced a smile. "Yeah! It's been years so maybe there will be more talented players."

Sumi put her finger on her chin. "That makes sense.."she mumbled before continuing. "It means more people to be interviewed! I forgot something! " she said and grab her bag, quickly walk towards the exit

"I forgot to buy my new camera accessories! Sorry but can you go home alone today?" She asks.

"Sure thing,see you tomorrow." He said and waved to her. "Bye,Sumi."

Sumi then runs out of the classroom,leaving the blue haired boy alone. He takes a deep breath and starts arranging his things. His mind is still occupied with those girls.

".....If only there were more clues..."

"I'm home!"

 

  He took off his shoes and put them on the shelf next to him. He walks in the house and smells something good in the kitchen.

   "Oh,welcome home. The food will be done soon." He can hear her voice from the kitchen. He nodded and walked to his room to put his bag.

   "The police had discovered a wet white trail on the ground. The authorities will continue their investigation for the missing girl. Until then,the citizens are advised not to wander around this location until it's approved as safe by the authorities."

   "Eh?" Riki's steps stop as he hear the news.

   The screen changed,as it shows the location of the incident,with white trails along the abandoned road. It's near.. with the place where he encountered those 'homunculus'..

    He approach the TV,staring at the screen.
"What....happened..?" He mumbled. It shows a collapsed building. The glass were shattered and debris were scattered around the place. It as if this place got caught by natural disasters..
