Chapter 6 : Level 2

CRASH.

A blur flew from the building like a ragdoll. Kuro slammed against a wall and slumped, motionless.

The Homunculus stepped from the wreckage-snarling, body crackling with regenerating mass.

"Miss-?!"

Yuki tried to rush forward.

"WAIT!"

Perria threw out her arm, stopping him. In the same instant, a small metallic object bounced on the ground with a bloop-CHING! sound.

SHHHRRRRM!

A glowing barrier dome expanded around them.

"BARK!! BARK-BARK!!"

A robotic dog charged in-neon eyes flashing, tail spinning like a turbine. It barked like a commander on the battlefield, then herded the kids into the dome with sharp nudges.

"Sha-hey-stop pushing me!" Simon squawked.

"Okay okay! We're going!" Sumi yelped, stumbling into the shield.

"What is that thing?!" Yuki asked.

"My robotic dog," Perria grinned, tossing Dracyan back to Riki. "Don't tell Kuro~"

She turned, twin guns in hand, eyes narrowing as she sprinted back into danger.

"Also,make that blue haired kid lay down! He is dizzy!" she shouted.

"Kuro!"

Perria rushed to her, her hands quickly checking her body. Her eyes scanned for any wounds.There were scratches here and there, but she was fine.

"I am fine... Perria, the kids?" Kuro slowly stood up and unsheathed her sword again.

"Safe!" Perria answered. "They are in the safety shield, with Bytebyte watching them."

Another growl from the monster could be heard as it ran toward them. Perria and Kuro's eyes widened, and they quickly dodged at the same time before getting squashed by its long arm.

"Ugh, this thing played dirty!" Perria grumbled. Her ahoge-like hair flicked back and forth in irritation as she activated her gun again.

"The crystal pulse is on its chest. We need a plan to distract it!" Kuro commanded.

"Plan? Just shoot it!" Perria grinned and pointed the trigger at the monster. As she pulled the trigger, the energy-like a bullet -pierced its chest. The hole regenerated as the Homunculus roared in anger.

It rushed toward her with its claw raised.

"Perria!?"

"Okay, bad idea!" she dodged and shot its legs. This time, the bullets exploded, destroying its entire right leg.

The monster roared and fell to the ground as the legs started to regenerate.

"We really need a plan!" Perria shouted as the monster stood up again, growling.

Kuro gritted her teeth. "Go call Hye or Noah, I'll distract this thing!" She rushed at the monster, cutting it in half before it could attack Perria in anger. It regenerated at high speed, making Kuro and Perria's stomachs drop.
