The Kissing Debt

(Authors POV)

"Ziggy." Lisa said nervously, but the tone of her voice indicated she was trying to hide it.

"What, Sugar?" ZigZag had no idea what Lisa was about to do.

"I do kinda like you... I just feel so bad that I have to choose one of you and hurt the other. I have to apologize to you somehow for breaking your heart." She kicked the ground guiltily.

"Don't sweat it. Like you said, I'm a catch!" ZigZag patted Lisa's shoulder reassuringly.
Her eyes widened and her cheeks got red. She knew what to do.

"Look at me, Zig." She said, not only nervous but excited as well. Ricky turned to face Lisa, staring at her so intensely and nervously that his face drained of color. "I owe you a kiss."

ZigZag looked at her blankly. "What." Redness and heat rushed to his cheeks. "Did you say what I think you just said?"

"Yes, as a matter of fact you did... If Zero is okay with it, of course. And I want my first kiss to be with him, so you won't be the first.", Lisa said sympathetically. She felt bad having to say those kind of conditions.

"That's fine. As long as you're my first kiss, nothing else matters." Optimistically speaking. Truthfully, Zig didn't really feel that way. He wanted to be her first kiss too. But he understood and respected her wishes, because isn't that what everyone should do when it comes to kisses, and, well, everything else in life? He was happy for her anyways.

"We should head back to camp, and see if Zero would be okay with this!" She said encouragingly, nudging Zig's arm with her elbow.

"Sure." He forced a little smile, but Lisa could tell that he was trying hard just to look happy. She could tell that he was envious of Zero and upset about him being the one that Lisa liked. But a kiss would be enough, if he got it soon, before Zero would be mad at him for asking.

The two of them stood up and walked back to camp. The both of them were conflicted for different reasons, but Lisa knew she had to make up to Zig for what she did to upset him.

~Lisa's POV~

I felt conflicted with this, but while my head knew it was right to make my debt up to Ziggy, but my heart told me that this wasn't a good way to pay it off. Is there anything better for me that I can do, though? I wouldn't be surprised if Zero said no, but I also wouldn't be surprised if he said yes, especially if it meant him getting a kiss. Who would mind getting a kiss from the prettiest girl alive in Green Lake, Texas? Of course, there's not much competition, let alone good competition.
