"Ma'am Adelaide, may naghahanap po sa inyo sa labas," Lorry informed me while I'm in the kitchen with my other staff members.
"Who is it?" I asked, wondering.
"Best friend niyo raw po, ma'am."
"Oh, okay..." I answered when I realized who it is. I only have one best friend for life. Her name is Maia. The rest are my friends.
I took off my apron and left my staff there for a while to go see my best friend. I'm glad she's here to visit me! We've been talking about it for weeks already and now I'm so happy she found time to see me.
I immediately recognized her when I stepped out of the kitchen. Her long and wavy red hair made it clear it's her sitting at the table near the counter.
I smiled when she saw me too. She quickly stood up and squealed. Her arms were wide open, obviously waiting for me to hug her so I did.
It's our first time seeing each other again after a month!
"Oh my goodness, I missed you!" she said, pulling away from our hug to look at me.
I chuckled. "Yeah, I missed you too. I'm so glad you have time to come here."
She rolled her eyes. "It's because you don't have time to visit me, so I thought it was my responsibility to come here instead."
I laughed at that. Seeing she is alone, I decided to sit down in front of her. We both sat down and started catching up with each other.
"So, how are you?" I asked her.
"I'm good," she's smiling. "My tattoo business is growing and I'm feeling good about it. How about you?"
Maia is my best friend since college. Like me, she also quit her office job because she wanted to try something new. Now, she has a tattoo shop. She's trained enough for it already. And like me, it's one of her dreams as well.
"I'm fine. The café is doing well and I'm happy managing and working here now. I enjoy being here all the time."
She pouted. "Really? I'm so happy for you."
Her words warmed my heart. I smiled warmly.
"Thank you, Maia. I am so happy for you, too. I've always been your number one supporter with everything that makes you happy. You know that, right?" I chuckled at the end of my sentence.
"Of course! And I know you're proud of me. I am so proud of you too..."
This is what I love about her. She's always been a good friend to me and a kind soul to everybody else. Our energies match perfectly and I appreciate her thoughtfulness all the time, even though she always rolls her eyes at me.
"Thank you for saying that. You're so kind," I exaggerated. She cringed so hard that I couldn't help but laugh.
But I really do appreciate her. She's my soul sister.
"By the way, you should come to my place sometime! Don't you want to get a tattoo?" she suggested.
"I'm thinking about it, but I haven't fully decided yet. I'll let you know when I'm sure about it."
She sighed. "You should get one! If you decide to come and get a tattoo, I'll do it for you for free because you're my best friend! I'm the tattoo artist, so you should try and see my work."
I chuckled again. "Yeah, I'll come by soon. I'll think about the design first. It has to symbolize something meaningful. I don't want to get one that doesn't mean anything."
She pursed her lips. "Alright, then. Just update me when you're ready."
"Will do."
I instructed one of my staff to bring us some food and I had Rico prepare a matcha latte for Maia since it's her favorite. As always, she was delighted and giddy.
